I found one today NIB for $425 with Comfortech stock and Ghost ring sights. It is a Model 20155 for anyone that knows much about them, MSRP $559. I ran across this one while looking at an 870. It feels pretty good to me for the price, and as I understand with the extender it is a 7+1 using 2-3/4" shells. Any opinions?
You ask for opinions so here goes… I don’t think it would be possible to design a gun any uglier than a Super Nova. Few available accessories compared to Remington and Mossberge. I don’t like ghost ring sights. It is a 3 1/2" gun. I would have no interest in that gun for any price. If it fits you and you don’t plan on accessorizing go for it! GH
Uglier than the SuperNova? Look no farther than the Vinci:
I can get past the looks, im more curious about going bang every pull, holding 8 rounds, and ~$500. What else would you recommend based on this criteria? No pistol grip either…
Sent from my GS3
The Nova has one of the fastest pumps (very freakin smooth) of any pumps I have used. I’d grab it. Be warned, it does kick.
The Supernova is basically the Nova with a stock you can change. It balances well, has good features like mag disconnect, all the aftermarket accessories you need are there, and it is just a well built gun.
A lot of people say it (Nova/Supernova) is a really fast pump action and it is popular for 3 gun heavy metal- I guess it is pretty fast but I think the Winchester 1300 is faster (maybe the fastest) and has a better trigger but then again the Nova/Supernova can handle shells up to 3.5" while the 1300 is a 2.75" gun. Also you can’t really buy new 1300’s nor are there many companies still making aftermarket stuff for them…
If the price is good, then buy it
You mentioned 8+1 capacity- you can do this with a Nordic or Briley tube extension
I’m north of 8,000 on my old Nova… Runs like a top. I’ve had zero issues with it, and the action feels like its on ball bearings. There’s not much support for it like an 870, but you can find side saddles, sling adapters, and magazine tube extensions… Parts are out there just isn’t a huge selection, but the big dogs play with the SN… Mesa and Nordic.
Under $500 it can’t be beat IMHO.
