Looking at getting a different choke tube for my Benelli M4 as riding in my Polaris ranger with barrel down has worn the end of my barrel a bit. Looking at getting an extended choke tube to keep the barrel ware to a minimum. I run the stock mod choke. What does everyone else use?
Anyone???
What are you using it for and what ammo, shot size you plan on carrying?
For general hunting a modified is ok most of the time.
I use at least 3 different chokes depending on what I am hunting.
My self defense shotgun is cylinder choked and not interchangeable.
I mainly use it for varmints like coons and possums at night or for snakes during the day. I am familiar with choke constrictions and distance as I work in the upland bird hunting industry and manage a hunting preserve. I guess what I’m looking for is what everyone uses as far as extended tacticle choke tubes? I could just go buy stock benelli choke tubes but was looking for input as for what others uses.
Most “tactical” shotguns are going to be an improved cylinder bore. IC or Mod will do just fine for your stated use. You can get an “extended standard” choke from Benelli. The Benelli choke tubes are good to go. If you’re going to use an extended tube and are riding with the shotgun muzzle-down, I recommend being careful about keeping it screwed in tightly lest you send it (and the threading) downrange.
I use cylinder benelli flush choke tube with Breneke classic Magnum slugs for bear protection in my M4.
If I use birdshot for home defense I use the Full choke benelli flush tube for home defense with Turkey or Coyote Shot.
For Flight Control Fed Buckshot and Brenk. Slugs I use Cylinder choke tube.
Great pattern with Federal Flight Control Buckshot with Cylinder Choke very tight pattern.
Great Shotgun the M4.
