Benelli M1 Super90 Tactical Pricing?

I am considering a very lightly used Benelli M1 Super90 Tactical at $600. The shotgun looks to have been fired very little, shows some minor (and I do mean minor) handling wear, is generally in great shape and has LPA ghost ring sights. It is not HK marked and looks to be completely stock to my uneducated eye. $600 seems to be a good price, but I’m having a hard time coming up with relevant comparisons. I’ve searched here, and google, but haven’t come up with much other than some generally good reviews. I didn’t see much that was helpful on gunbroker.com, exept for one shotgun for sale at nearly that price, but with no ghost ring sights. Can anybody give me some input on the value and perhaps steer me towards a table where I can look up the date of manufacture based on the serial no.? Thanks in advance.

A M1S90 in in excellent condition is a steal at $600. It is still a highly sought after 3 gun shotgun due to the 21 inch barrel.

I have had one since 1997 as well as a standard M1 Field. Neither have EVER malfunctioned on me, being used in all types of weather from shooting skeet to hunting crows/ducks to shooting mistletoe out of trees. From cheap #8 7/8 oz Wal-mart loads to 3" steel shot.

My brother had a Browning that kept misfeeding and I told him it was probably the low base shells he was using. To make him feel better I said it would probably make my Benelli choke worse, since it was recoil operated, instead of gas piston operated like the Browning. So I fired it without pulling in tight to the shoulder trying to make it malfunction. I finally gave up, couldn’t get it to jam.

Get it, if you don’t want it, tell me who has it, I’ll buy it. :smiley:

Thanks. I went ahead and picked it up earlier today. I haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet, but it sure is purty. The fit and finish on this gun are just great. The proof date code (BT) shows it to be a 2003 model, based on the interweb.

Nice catch. If you end up not liking it you can still sell it for a profit.

That thought had crossed my mind. Honestly, though, I’ll be pretty surprised if I don’t like it.

I’d be surprised if you don’t like it too. They’re great guns. If you don’t though, keep me in mind. I love 'em and I’m always looking for a fresh one.

M1s go for around $700 or so used around here. Great shotguns, I used one for a while before switching to a 22" FN SLP Mk1 for 3gun.

I had one years ago and sold it. I regretted the decision so I bought another one.

That’s a good price. If you don’t end up loving it you should be able to sell it without losing any $.

FWIW, you are doing GREAT at $600. I paid $650 for mine last spring with rifle sights, pistol grip, threaded for choke tubes, and in decent shape 8/10. Mine is HK marked but I don’t see that as a big deal.

I’d jump on another one at $600 and flip it :wink:

Not a good idea unless you are either a FFL or enjoy cement walls… Be careful of what you recommend to others without understanding the consequences of said advise.

It’s a great shotgun I love mine although they don’t seem to like the light reduced power loads very much.

No harm meant. Is it illegal to buy and then sell a firearm for a profit, when all laws are followed? I am not trying to be sarcastic here at all, am I missing something? Your caution is well taken, I just think the OP is getting a good deal. Sorry for any confusion.
