Hey all ya’ll.
How do you guys like the new bcm stock? Does it lock up tite? Considering alternatives to sopmod. I believe it is lighter too. Thanks!

Great Stock, Tough as shit. Lock up is solid as hell with very little wobble, basically none. I went back to my sopmod cause I needed the battery storage
I’ve had one on one of my Ar’s for several months now. It’s pretty nice, like it a lot. No wobble on mine. All in all I’m happy with it.
I’m a fan for sure.
I just wish the QD sling pocket would allow different orientation of the sling swivel
It’s my favorite collapsible stock. Tough as nails, has a good cheek weld, has integrated QD points, minimal wobble, the toe angle works well for me, and it’s lightweight. I have no other requirements from a stock.
It does bother me to look at, but in use, I have no problems with it.
Ive got 2 no issues, Ive also got 2 of the LWRC compact stocks, I like those better.
I’d have at least two if they’d release a Mod 1 with the sloped cheek rest. I’ve been spoiled by the SOPMOD and have been holding ever since they came out just for that. Don’t care about the battery compartments though.

All I want from it is more cheek rest, everything else is great.
Ugly as hell and wish there was more cheek weld but hands down the best stock I have ever used
Love it. I run the SOPMOD on nose heavy ARs still… to help balance the gun. But like the Gunfighter stock a lot.
Ditto for more check rest.
Very functional stock. My current preference over the VLTOR iMods I’ve always used previously.

I like mine a lot. It’s lightweight and tight. Second only to the B5 SOPMOD in my opinion.
I didn’t like the QD socket holding the sling the wrong way and the stock is just too light.
NO loaded AR is balanced enough that such a light stock helps it.
I think the Magpul MOE SL stock is a much better stock in every regard.
It would depend entirely on the AR, and to an extent, the shooter’s preference.
My RECCE-16 with a WML and an H1 in an LT660, loaded, balances right around the front 1/3rd of the magazine. I like a rifle to balance at the magazine anyway, so this works for me. When I had a heavier handguard, I also liked a heavier stock.
Excellent combo of light weight and durability…no levers, or anything to snag, flat out works. And priced very competitively as well.

A loaded 30 round g.i. mag weighs 15 oz. The BCM Gunfighter sock weighs 7.5oz.
There is a little bit of moment with the stock being out on the receiver extension, but not nearly as much as the bolt carrier group and everything in front of it. A KMR 13 by itself is 7.7oz, so even without the barrel and magazine, the moment of a KMR would still not be balanced by a 7.5oz stock.
But, I know, feelings and all.
What do feelings have to do with anything? You said no rifle will balance with the BCM. I said where mine balances, and that balance point preference is subjective.
But since you want to bring up weight…
KMR: 7.7 oz
BCM Mod 0 Comp: ~2.0 oz
Mid-length Gas Tube: 0.8 oz
Shaved Gas Block: 1.3 oz
DD Front Sight: 1.1 oz
BCM BFH 16" Barrel: 28 oz
WML: 3.0 oz
HSP Offset: 0.8 oz
BCM QD Mount: 0.3 oz
Total at, and ahead of, barrel nut: 45.0 oz
Upper Receiver: 9.6 oz
BCG: 11.5 oz
CH: 1.3 oz
DD Rear: 1.7 oz
Complete lower w/H buffer: 35.2 oz
Total behind barrel nut: 65.1 oz
Math says the weight bias is behind the barrel nut. My own experience is that the balance point is around the front of the mag well. Add a loaded GI mag, it still balances right around the same point. The rifle is rather neutral whether there’s a magazine in it or not. A lighter barrel would send the balance point even more towards the center of the mag well.
I wish I’d weighed & recorded the actual weight of different components, but I didn’t. But I did record what affect a Magpul UBR stock had on the CG of my 16 inch carbine compared to the Magpul CTR
