Considering a bcm 14.5 socom carbine length gas upper but wondering if bcm may have plans to make something similar in a 16 mid length. It would probably sell well. Hint…
Checked their site and don’t believe they currently offer a middie 16” “socom” upper
Considered building one but would prefer to support bcm.
Not interested in similar offerings from other makers. Would get the bcm 14.5 socom instead of a 16” “socom” middie from another maker.
(Nothing against other makers. It just that my bcm’s function 100% and I’m superstitious…so bcm’s are my “good luck” charms like how some have “good luck” socks.)
I too love BCM stuff, and I have a BCM SOCOM 14.5" pinned upper. I recently bought an ELW 14.5" mid-length upper. It’s great to carry, but I much prefer the shooting qualities of the SOCOM carbine upper. I know that’s comparing apples to oranges, but I thought I’d throw that out there. I had a standard weight BCM mid-length several years ago that I traded off. I’m probably one of the few weirdos that prefers a carbine-length gas system. I don’t think they kick any more than a middy, and to tell you the truth, neither kicks very much, anyway. I haven’t seen anything in BCM’s catalog like you are describing. I’d get the SOCOM setup.
Agreed. I want an EMW-F at some point, it’d be nice if they made it a BFH. I emailed them asking if it would be, they said they have no plans but it wouldn’t hurt for others to tell them the same thing.
I have a BCM 16" SOCOM which I converted into a quasi-recce style carbine. It is a great shooter and combined with a H2 buffer it is a soft shooting carbine which I would highly recommend.
