BCM or Daniel Defense

This isn’t one of those which one is better threads… We all know both make exceptional rifles.

Who prefers what and why? I have a DD M4 V1 and a BCM Recce 14 mod 0. I’m trying to choose which one to keep with me while I commute.

I just got the BCM and I’ve had the DD for a while now. The DD has been flawless for the 800 rounds I’ve put through it. I’m sure the BCM will prove just as reliable. I’m just stoked I found it new for the price I got it at.

The obvious things considered like the shorter barrel of the BCM have been taken into account already.

I have both. Honestly, I trade between them at random and I don’t prefer one over the other.

I think of these 2 like comparing the Chevy Camaro Z28 vs, the Pontiac Firebird Formula. Both cool cars but different. Kind of like trying to decide which of your 2 daughters is your favorite…

I prefer Daniel Defense as more of their product comes from “in house”.
They are both quality, I am sure, and I have not heard anything negative about either.

I also have both and notice no difference in quality although my DD 14.5 is unusually accurate for a CHF barrel.

Either…both are awesome…I own a DD

Flip a coin. I own Daniel Defense because Georgia is home. I’d be just as happy with BCM or Colt.

LMT is a great quality rifle, Better than the 2 listed in my experience.

In my own personal opinion you cant go wrong with either. I own examples from both brands as well as LMT, FN, Noveske and all are exceptional. At this point with the top tier brands the quality appears to be close to equal from what I have experienced. I just like owning different brands for the fun of it :stuck_out_tongue:

By FN I mean the FN SCAR 16&17…excellent rifles

Gunfun, where do you find better quality with LMT? I have DD, BCM and LMT and see all to be superb. BCM does offer the most choices in barreled upper configurations which helps get my business.

LMT, BCM, DD… all the same to me. I have not noticed much difference in the operation of any of these three in my own personal experience. Don’t hear about many problems with these three either. One thing about BCM is I have heard (not experienced 1st hand) of some issues with BCM not liking certain .223 ammo. I have not had this problem with my BCM but it may be something to think about. My only issue with LMT is the lack of parkerizing under the FSB but if the FSB is removed, LaRue gas blocks do a good job of covering the exposed steel. I don’t like how DD marks their rifles up like they are some type of race car. I like about everything else about these three.

The fit and finish just doesn’t seem as good as the LMT. I have a DD and its not even close as nice as my LMT.

Sounds purdy.

Between the two rifles you asked about I would pick the BCM based solely on the gas port. BCM seems to have the gas port size dialed in better than any other manufacturer on their barrels.

Rotate them

Unless your LMT is encased in diamonds the finish cannot be that far superior to the DD rifles.

Some folks view different shades of black on one rifle as finish inadequacies. I’m fond of purchasing parts from those people

The DD is loose between the upper and lower and the charging handle sounds like its dragging through sand.

Thread lock Threat level has reached Fit and Finish stage…

bling bling mothaf@#ers.

This should never be a consideration.
