BCM Gunfighter stock - disassembled, for the curious.

I have seen a lot of stocks over the years go through drop tests (some official US Govt and some not). Very few will make it over and over and over again like the BCM one does. Most crack on the FIRST drop.

December?! :cray:

The beauty of the AR is that the center of gravity makes it land right on the optic when dropped from a significant height. :stuck_out_tongue:

Where did you see or hear this from ?

My optics all have at least 1 or 2 dings on them. I built a mobile rifle rack to hold 5 rifles because of that very problem.

Haha. I’m with you there.

So, what’s the big surprise everyone was alluding to with this stock? Is it that it’s modular and parts can be changed out?

Ultra lightweight, rigid with tightest lockup.

I didn’t even know that they made a stock.

It is not my place to discuss specifics, but I am aware of a number of popular stocks that take beating after beating over the mil spec test without problems.

My point is not that the BCM stock isn’t rugged, I just think without sufficient supporting data it’s a weak marketing point to call it “one of the strongest.”

It’s also hideous, but that’s another discussion entirely.

Yep, but none this light and this inexpensive (to my knowledge) will last as long as the BCM.

I have one and think it is very modern and sleek looking. It also feels good shouldered (cheek weld).

Grant, what color is BCM using for the cerakote?

They call it dark bronze. Pictures do NOT do it justice.

I’ve been trying but can’t find an answer: does the stock limit rotation of a QD swivel so that it can only face down?

Yes on limiting it.

The BCMGUNFIGHTER™ Stock Assembly features:

The strongest light weight polymer stock for your mil-spec receiver extension.

· New patent pending latch reinvents the stocks interface with a mil-spec receiver extension providing user with superior strength when dropped or mortaring malfunction clearance drills.
· Snag free design. No sharp edges prevent tangling of rifle with shooters sling, molle gear, or other kit.
· Modular VBOST (Vehicle Borne Operations Sling Tab) – This tab interfaces with the shooters riggers band or bungee to secure the shooters sling against the stock when carbine is not in use. Most common application when operating inside a vehicle.
· 2 different types of ambidextrous sling mounting options including QD swivel sockets.
· Integrated color matched rubber butt pad for secure placement in shoulders along with increased durability.
· Simple modular design. 5 parts and 1 screw allow for modular adaption of future stock options and configurations.
· Available in Black, Flat Dark Earth, Foliage Green, and Wolf Gray.

How does that affect function Grant? I’m used to my sling coming off the back of my stock, not facing down at a 90 degree.

I don’t run my AR’s this way (sling connected to the stock) so I cannot comment one way or another. My guess is that it works just fine (as a lot of the BCM GunFighters DO run their slings to their stocks).

Thank you sir.

Question for the reviewers (MM, Plouffe, Grant, etc…):

What are the dimensions of the stock (specifically length)?

Is the buttpad removable?

I’ve searched but haven’t seen any info on this. I appreciate your time in answering this!

I would like to see an updated version of this with the new magpul & bcm stocks included.
