I placed an order on Saturday for a complete upper, a geissele trigger and some other stuff. Monday morning I realized that I forgot 1 small part so I sent them an email asking them to please add it to my order as it hasn’t shipped yet.
Half an hour later I get an email from BC Admin saying that they couldn’t modify a order and that they canceled my complete order! What the Fuck? They didn’t even ask me if I would like to cancel it or not. If they would have only told me I would have placed a separate order for the $6 part. Now I need to wait till they credit my account before I can place another order because they charge you right away.
If I could find another place who has the upper I want I wouldn’t even bother with BCM anymore. With my luck the upper I want is sold out by the time my account is credited.
I tried contacting Paul by phone, email and PM w/o luck.
Hi CDH,
Sorry about your experience.
At the top of your shopping cart every time you add in an item we have a message that states;
“In an effort to maintain a system of speed and efficiency in processing and shipping your order, we will not be able to manually combine multiple orders for savings on shipping charges. We will also not be able to manually put in order add ons after orders have been submitted. Please carefully review your order before you submit. Thank you for your understanding.”
Our shipping is not as fast as it is by accident. The system is set up to run at the cyclic rate. Often you may not even have hours between hitting “submit order” and it being on a UPS/USPS truck. There is no opportunity to change things. Imagine a printer spitting paper like a M240G spits lead. Our printer costs as much as a M240G, and runs hot!
When your order is submitted and changes are requested, we have only two choices (if we wish to maintain our levels of speed and efficiency for all the rest of the orders). Let it stay in the fast moving queue or kill it (as that’s the only way to remove/modify/change it). There is no back and forth on change order emails. By the time we get a response, the truck has left and your order shipped. And if you are emailing changes, then it did not ship the way you wanted. We will never be shipping an order if we think it’s not what the customer wanted, no matter how small the change. The order gets killed, and a new order, a modified order can be placed at your convenience.
I understand your point but it doesn’t make sense to me that BC would charge me and then cancel a order that was 150 times the cost of the $6 part I wanted to add. The charge was posted right away but the credit is still not. IMO it was a bad call to cancel my order as I didn’t request any significant changes and all I wanted was an extra part. Oh well…shit happens…always to me.
Was it the charging handle? I always forget the charging handle when ordering the uppers. BCM is the only barreled uppers I will buy. I am fixing to get a middy from BCM. Hopefully I remember a charging handle. I know another guy who forgot to order a charging handle too. I am not a “fanboi” I just like the high quality of their products, professionalism, and fast shipping.
I believed they canceled Your order beacuase they wanted to put all items on one order for You, and not ship 2 packages. Sounds like a big misunderstanding on Your part of their policy. Sounds to me they were trying to help You out by canceling the order so You could pay shipping once.
Originally I did want to add something to my order. But given the choice of order cancellation and keeping my original order & placing a 2nd additional order - I would have picked the latter! I would have gladly placed a second order and pay 2x shipping if it would have spared me the headache. Now I’m still waiting for my account to be credited before I can get my upper…if it isn’t sold out by then.
Ah, I see what You are saying. You cannot cover the other upper til they credit Your card? Maybe call and explain the situation, and I bet they’d set one aside for You.
I understand your point. But please understand “significant” in reference to changes is subjective. On any given day we will have about 500 customers’ definitions of “significant”. Not significant to you will be significant enough to another customer that they will refuse delivery and send us nasty emails for the next few days.
Our credit is immediate. In your case it was an authorization, but we never requested transfer of funds. We requested the authorization be voided.
Our end is immediate. It is your bank that is holding back your money. Banks like to do that for a few days. Its the way they operate.
Never had a single problem with bravocompanyusa. they are great. Hope you guys start to give out coupon and stuff ![]()
Tried calling several times but no answer.
Thanks for your response. I’ll get my rifle built, one way or another.
The prices are already great. I just put a surefire on my 14.5 lw carbine this evening and I’m happier than shit.

In my opinion your attitude is wrong. Place yourself in their shoes trying to fill orders, ship orders, build guns, answer all kinds of questions (to include silly ones) all in a normal work day. Which if I was to guess is probably about 10 hours a day for these guys.
Even though you think it was a minor change, had they shipped the order to someone else and it was wrong they would have flipped out and pointed fingers.
As for the credit card thing. That has almost ZERO to do with the merchant. The bank takes their sweet time when doing a refund. I know I have experienced it as well.
My family & friends think different. However, BCM has been very helpful to get the funds released from the bank. I placed another order with them today.
Refunds taking 2-5 days pisses me off, too, but the bank is basically taking a loan on you for that money. They can get 2-5 days worth of interest off it. Imagine the billions of dollars a year they get 2-5 days worth of interest off.
I would, however, not be happy if an entire order got canceled because I asked if I could add a single thing.
I’ve always heard/read about the excellent service from BCM, but I’ve never experienced it 'til now. I ordered a Vltor EMod A5 stock kit early Thursday morning. At noon I got an notification via email that it had shipped. It arrived this morning (Saturday). And that’s standard shipping. Very impressive.
