Going to be ordering a new charging handle, just dont know which one to get. Was looking to get different opinions from guys that have one and which one you prefer and why. Is the large going to get caught on everything? Is the med going to be big enough? Whats your thoughts? Pics would be helpful. Thanks.
I really like my Mod 4. Isn’t so big that it gets caught on gear.
Mod 3 might poke you in the chest a little in a right-hand sling carry, might also get hung up on your chest rig, depending. The Mod 4 is plenty IMHO.
Any of you guys have problems with it pinching your fingers? I had read a few reports of that, was wondering how common this is as I was considering picking one up.
Mod 4 on all my AR’s. Some things are just made to feel like it should have there since the beginning.
Looking around the internet, it appears to be not common, but not rare either. It definitely represents a design defect for at least one segment of the shooting public. I’ve been pinched several times, found it really annoying. I took it upon myself to fix it. Bench grinder, 400 grit sandpaper and some black paint. Took a couple of minutes. Not optimal, but no big deal. It’s a good charging handle and IMHO was worth salvaging.

+1 here. Never tried a MOD 3, but MOD 4 is plenty big enough. Haven’t experienced any pinching.
Just ordered a mod 4. Was thinking about the 3 or 4. Was just worried that the 3 would be to big and get caught on stuff. Thanks!
I use a Mod 3 on my HD gun and my SWAT precision gun.
In the case of the former, I’m probably going to be pretty slick, gear and clothing wise, so snagging isn’t as much of an issue. For the latter, I have to contend with working the CH underneath a scope, so the extra leverage is appreciated.
My duty/SWAT-notasmuchprecision gun has a Mod 4, for contending with duty belts, shirts with brass on it, MOLLE webbing, and comms cables.
I was thinking that the large was probably designed with scopes in mind. I dont have one on mine so I think I will be fine with the med.
I have the Mod3 and Mod4. I have been pinched once or twice. Should have been wearing gloves. I just cleaned the sand from my taco and kept on.
Was it just an annoying kind of pinch or was there lots of bleeding involved?

Annoying, but not enough to keep me from buying two others.
I am used to curling my fingers around the charging handle (PRI Gasbuster + Standard Charging Handles), so I got a blood blister from the open ended bottom pinching my index finger pad.
I just learned to keep my index finger straight during charging.
You know when I got my Mod 4 it pinched like crazy before I even put it on the gun. Just playing with it in the box.
But since its actually been put on my rifle it hasnt pinched me one single time. I would never go bigger than the medium size, it works perfectly for me, in fact, if I had a SAMR or DMR I would go the small size.
I never knew what the big deal was with the Gunfighter CH until I got one. I saw a couple CHs break during a class I took not too long ago. I figured it’s good to have an extra in my bag, so I ordered the Gunfighter with the intention of using the stock CH as my spare. [i]
Now[/i] I get it. This thing is sturdy. I feel that I could rip this one much harder than the stock handle if I had to. No pinching issues at all, for me. The Gunfighter CH will definitely be on any other rifles I get.
ETA: I forgot to mention I got a Mod4.
I run a Mod 3 on my Noveske and it pinches the crap out of my hands any time I dont have gloves on.
Also, Ive never had the large latch catch on anything in the past 6 months and 2 classes.
I love my medium BCM Charging Handle. It’s big enough to really kick ass, but not too big to get hung up on gear, curtains, couches, seatbelts, doorways and other guys …things I have seen the super-mega-ninja extra large tacticool chargers get hung up on…
