I have read many good threads on BCG’s. If you were going to buy a Back up BCG for your gun bag, which one and why? I’m looking for a premium BCG, then use it and take one out of my gun and use as back up.
Does anyone just buy the bolt, b/c thats the higher risk part. More to go wrong…
I would get just a BCM bolt. I bought an extra complete BCG, but would just get the bolt next time.
BCM BCG or a LMT BCG

Your post needs more TLAs, RFN, 10-4? 
From what I’ve read in the website specs, the DD seems to be second only to the BCM. It has the shot-peened bolt, extractor booster
MPI tested, chrome-lined carrier, and is well-staked. Hopefully, Daniel Defense will make “The Chart” soon.
Edit - per the G&R info from mrbieler, the DD BCG has everything the BCM does. Thanks for the expanded list, I was using the website info, which is not as extensive as G&R.

I have them in each of my 3 carbines.
My spare bolt is a BCM, but the DD groups are still the least expensive of the ones I’ve considered using (Colt, LMT, BCM, and DD).
I enjoy watching a breast bounce as it runs, but I’ve never seen a breast run on it’s own.

I’m a firm believer in the BCM BCGs as well as the LMT items.
LMT = MIM gas key
Maybe it’s not a big deal, but maybe it is. For me, it means that I buy BCM BCG’s.
BCM has a laser etched logo on their BCG if you want extra tacticool points DD, BCM, LMT are all good to go
BCM auto, and they’re “on sale” now for $140.

I run one of Denny’s too. I bought the one for AR15’s though. It’s been great… I put it into one of those Noveske uppers from BC that came minus the CH and BCG. He appears to take great pride in his work.
I can’t believe that I forgot to mention the Denny’s Super Duty BCGs. They are good to go.
I have ordered quite a bit from Denny in the past, but all things being equal, the Super Duty BCG is not $20 better than a BCM BCG.
To be honest, I only bought the Super Duty because it was the only one available at the time (last April) without paying the Obama premium. The upper that it runs in is BCM, and both have run flawlessly. I couldn’t be more pleased with the setup.
Is there a difference between a semi-auto and auto BCG? I’m also looking for a new/spare BCG…
