Battleship Grey BCM / D&H Magazine Question

Searched the forum a few times now and while I see posts on these magazines early on, I don’t see anything discussing how they turned out with use. I know Grant posted a different D&H mag recently (Teflon), but wondering about these because they are on special pricing–less than $100 for 10 and LAV said pick up some aluminum mags so… BUT, these are a different paint and not Teflon.

Specifically, are there any issues cropping up with this particular coating/pain?. To some this may seem like a silly question, but this was a SERIOUS issue with the Checkmate Beretta magazines due to coating.

I don’t want to buy a bunch of cheaper, but not as good mags. Same time, don’t want to ignore a good deal. Link follows:

Thanks.

Don’t bow down before the master

I bought a couple 10-packs of the battleship gray D&H mags from BCM last year when it appeared the end was near. I took 3 of them and added them to my training stash; they’re the only aluminum mags I’ve used in the past year. They’ve been 100% reliable and have held up just fine to being dropped, kicked around, and tossed into a backpack to be hauled around. I prefer my Pmags but I have no complaints about my battleship grays.

Ditto same here

I am a aluminum USGI magazine user and I have a lot of NHMTG and Colt labeled USGI mags and I have A LOT of the Teflon, hard anodized finish D&H Mags in grey, black and tan. Been predominantly using the D&H mags for about 2 years now with zero issues. I don’t get mine from BCM but that is a good price on a 10 pack. At least in the photo that color is definitely not my thing.

Brushy, G2G on the D&h grays good choice.

I have a few, and they have worked very well-no issues so far.

To echo some of the other responses, NHMTG and Colt are probably “the best” but D&H are very good as well. Really you can’t go wrong with any of those three.

I personally like the finish on the D&H better as it tends to keep looking better after a bit of use compared to the NHMTG mags which tend to scratch and look a bit more beat up in my experience.

FWIW I picked up 6 of the D&H in grey over a year ago. Been using 3 on and off as range mags and haven’t had any issues.

I bought about 5 battleship grey mags last summer and ran them a bunch. They aren’t Teflon coated, as stated, so the only difference that I noted was they scratched easier than my Teflon D&H mags. But it’s a mag, who gives a shit about scratches; honestly USGI mags look best when they look well used

PSA has a better deal @ 10 D&H mags teflon coated with magpul follower for $87 shipped. From what I have searched they are the same exact mag minus the different coating, however, PSA being PSA it will take about one week to ship. If you happen to care.

I have Labelle (pre-D&H) USGI mags from the 90’s that still work flawlessly.

Thanks for all the feedback gents. Much appreciated.

I bought 6 from bcm last year, wish I would have bought more. I haven’t had any problems what so ever. They insert and fallout the well pretty easily.
