Well, it didn’t take long for me to decide to get my own BattleComp once I tried out a friend of mines. I just received my own BC1.0 recently and got a chance to put it through its paces.
I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW GREAT OF A COMP THIS IS!!
I figured I’d bust out the video camera and put something together to show my appreciation for such an outstanding product. The link to the video is below.
I’m going to critique your “scanning”. I’m assuming you’re scanning for further threats and creating a habit that you’ll do in reality. But what are you possibly seeing when you flip your head like that? Don’t create a training scar for yourself by doing that. If you’re going to scan, take the time to do it right. Just my thoughts.
He’s right. What I am doing is wrong. I guess it was just the nerves from being on camera. There’s actually a multitude of errors (in my opinion), but I think I’ll pass on pointing them out.
But he’s right…don’t repeatedly do something wrong unless you wanna train bad habits into yourself.
MEANWHILE, back on thread… that was a very convincing video. That starts to look less as a like to have and more of a better put this in the budget item… That AR stayed soooo level during the shoot. Impressive to say the least.
I finally joined the compensator ranks earlier this year trying out an FSC556 on an SBR I built. That was impressive to me so I bought a BC 1.0 for my Noveske. That was so impressive I took advantage of the $100 blem sale BCE had and bought two more. We’re going all-BCE around here.
What is so impressive about this? Hes using good technique at something like 15 yards. With good technique you CAN do that kind of shooting with an A2.
I think im the ONLY person in the world that doesnt like the battle comp. I find it pushes the muzzle down TOO much and does NOTHING for recoil reduction. I dont like fighting gravity when im shooting, i prefer the muzzle to return to its starting point after the shot via gravity and nothing more.
With the BC i have to push the muzzle up and im constantly fighting the gun instead of rolling with it.
I think alot of the hype is coming from people that may never have shot with a compensator before. The Mark 1 Mod 0 shoulder has a very hard time feeling the difference between well designed comps and there are ALOT of well designed comps on the market.
Im still waiting for Robs compensator test to see if we can get some scientific data to back which comp is truly the “best”.
Heartbreaker, id like to see that test updated to reflect the current market and the plethora of “tactical” brakes that have been released recently, not just 3 gun specific brakes.
My opinion certainly is subjective but thats my point. The hype surrounding this product is based purely on subjective notions.
Sorry you don’t like it. We’ve never suggested everyone should have one, and we certainly have not forced anyone to buy any BattleComp product. It’s a free country.
If you want to return your BattleComp for a full refund, we are happy to return all of your money, if we haven’t already.
I would hardly call myself someone who has never used a comp before. I’ve shot just over 45K rounds using comps and brakes for competition in the last 5yrs. The BattleComp works and works VERY well. Are other comps better at recoil reduction? Yes but ALL I’ve ever used/tested/T&E’d were a lot louder and if used near cover or the ground would push off of the cover and if near the ground would kick up a lot of debris. The only one I’ve used that does what the BattleComp does is the KAC Triple Tap which has a price point almost 3 times the cost and works 10% or so better judging by my Mk 1 Mod 0 40yr old shoulder.
And in your avatar pic your Magpul patch is upside down.
Its a subjective thing and not everyone is going to love the product. There is no apology necessary from you guys. You’ve been nothing but professional in both sales and service and i commend you on your business model and the relationship you’ve formed with your customers.
Still, i see ALOT of fanboyism floating around in the AR15 world lately, more than normal it seems and the BC definitely seems to be on that list. I really do believe this phenomenon can be traced back to this item being a poor mans triple tap. I would love a TT but i cannot justify the expenditure. At 150 buckaroos the battlecomp seems to be the next best thing, at least according to the widespread feedback that everyone seems to be posting on forums and recording on youtube.
I see a marked difference in performance between the TT and the battlecomp and for that matter the PWS but thats just me, an average shooter that has tried every “tactical” brake on the market, or come pretty close.
Robb, you’re hardly an average shooter and that comment was most definitely not directed towards you.
At the end of the day i do believe you’ve designed a good product, its just not for me as the recoil reduction doesnt jive with the way I like to control muzzle climb on the AR.
EDIT: Robb, i know. Neil from GG slapped it on my hydro carrier and i didnt even know it was there until i saw the photo.
Thanks for the compliment. Like Magsz correctly assumed, the target was at 15 yards or so. Definitely not what I would consider “far” by any means, but I thought it provided a good representation of what the BC1.0 can do.
A couple thousand more rounds downrange should see my shot splits go WAY down and my groups tighten up as well.
