Does anyone know who might offer a 14.5" mid-length lightweight barrel? I want to go with a pinned barrel and I like the idea of a mid-length gas system and the longer forearm it allows you to mount but I have no idea where to find one.

If you get a low-profile gas block you can put on whatever you want on pretty much any barrel.
I like the idea of a mid-length gas system… seems to be a bit easier on the package as a whole but you are correct and I may go that way.
The trick is going to be to find the barrel then figure out what I want to put on the thing up front.
Has anyone ever had a 16" barrel cut down to 14.5"??
I have had a Sabre 16 Middy cut down to a 14.5. the work was done by ADCO. It worked out great

If you are going to cut it, and intend on permanently attaching a muzzle device, I suggest that it is cut to 14.7 to give a wider selection of comps and brakes to bring the barrel up to 16".
