Barrel cut

I would like some advice if you got it.
I am looking to cut my 16" barrel to a 14.5 with the flash hider pinned and welded. My question comes from that i have a 13 inch rail with a x300 out front. Will the muzzle blast ruin my light? shoud i switch lights? or will the barrel clear the light

I have run a similar set-up on my AR. The only problem I ever had was a dirty light.
