Would you guys recommend the Barnaul ammunition over the Wolf?Anyone know the best place to buy the Barnaul.
I prefer Golden Tiger, I’ve found it to be better than Wolf. Cope’s has it for $180 per 1K. Barnaul is also a good choice.
I have no issues with either. Both are approximately the same performance except Barnaul is a little cleaner and a little tighter groups, depending on what round you are shooting. YMMV.
I like the Golden Tiger as well.
+1 for Golden Tiger.
Ive used Golden Tiger and its pretty good stuff. Wolf is good as well, I can make 200 yrd head shots on a standard sillouette with my AK using wolf and im not a very good shot. Honestly i would just get whatever is the cheapest and easily attainable. Cant go wrong with either IMHO
Have a link?
I have bought and sot thousands of rounds in Barnaul .308/.223/7.62x39 and could never discern a difference over Wolf or Tiger stuff.
have Gt (762/545), wolf classic (545/762) s&b barnaul etc…what ever is cheap! i do not have enought experience to determine what constitutes “dirty” ammo, nor am i a good enough shooter to tell you if one is more accurate…i CAN tell u that i have fired appx 3000 rounds total (equal amounts of each) thru a variety of "quality " ak’s (arsenal, higher end saiga conversions) and have yet (knock wood) had a failure of anykind
have yet to shoot either of my AR’s (trust me i really want to-held down by injurt and now my range is closed for the week for maintainence) i have wolf, silver bear, privi brass and the centurion brass. hoping for similar results
NO final disclaimer…my range is only 20 yds long! even if i get a good group together, it would not be a good indicatior of 100-300m accuracy
i am so tired, i really dont know what my point is:confused:
Is there 7.62x39 ammo that is cleaner than Wolf?
Brass cases would be a plus, too.
Thanks.
Race,
There is always Wincherster, but it will cost you.

Has anyone tried this Romanian stuff?
Definitely not my first pick, but it shoots fine.
Can you elaborate? Is it lower quality than Barnaul (that would certainly be relative). Dirtier?
Thanks.
Consistency, I’ve found GT and Barnaul to be more consistent. I pick GT over Barnaul, because it’s cheaper. I’ve found with 3 700 rd tins of Hotshot, it varied too much. Wolf is good to go, but I haven’t found it to be as consistent as GT/Barnaul.
Good to know. Thanks for the info.
