Now that the Banshee PC has been out for awhile, I’m looking for user opinions. it’s pretty low cost and looks to offer some nice features but that alone doesn’t make it worthwhile if it doesn’t work well.
I know Surf did a great review when it first came out but I’m looking for someone who’s had it long enough to get an opinion possibly versus any other system they’ve used…
I’ve had mine for awhile now and love it. It does exactly what I bought it for. Lightweight, smaller profile, and comfortable. However, these opinions are all relative to me. I would try and find a local shop that carries them so you can try it out if possible.
One con:
-Shoulder quick release buckle/cover design. I don’t like how bulky it lookss and you can not double back the strap through the buckle to prevent it from sliding over time. The strap will not sit correctly in the pocket if you do. I had to tape mine in place to prevent the weight of my gear from backing off the straps.
Sure. I’ll take a look tonight and edit this post for you.
Edit: Rear plate compartment is secured by a single flap that has a velcro portion about(guessing by sight) 4in by 8in. It seems pretty secure to me and from what I remember, is what I’ve seen on other carriers as well.
hey thanks for that. it looks like it’s well made by all accounts but I was wondering how high the rear plate rides. in pics and vids it looks like it’s a little low. or does it look the same to you as all others?
I think it is a matter of how you adjust it to fit you. Mine fits great and covers the vital internals it needs to. There is a topic that discusses this on the forums that would be worth the read.
So far so good on mine. Haven’t worn it to a class yet, just at the range and at the house doing dry fire. Pretty comfortable on me, my chest is 52" and it adjusted fine for me. Is it the best, probably not, but for the price I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Others have complained about not being able to seat their buttstock well with it on, I’ve had no trouble personally.
Been wearing mine for a while now, for classes, civvie range time and .mil range time.
Very comfy to wear for long periods if you get the right shoulder pads. I went the HSGI route and freaking love it. Rides High and tight, doesn’t bounce around much, and looks close enough like the KDH no one cares.
The straps can slide, and will with any kind of movement over time, so I just taped mine. Not really a negative as I’ve been taping gear for almost a decade now and I actually do it out of habit not necessity.
People complain about not being able to shoulder their weapons, but I tend to mount the gun very close to mid-line versus out on the shoulder. So it’s on my plate and not on the shoulder strap so I have no issues there.
The plates ride right where I like them too, and secure very well. No worries about that on my end despite running and dropping quite a bit over the past 6 months of wearing it.
Overall I really like it, very well made, comfy as hell, and small enough that it doesn’t impede any movements while working on patients.
