Banshee modifications

has anyone made any mods to the Banshee PC? I’d like to be able to rig the cummerbund to work with clips rather than the velcro.

I don’t use side plates so it wouldn’t have to be weight bearing…

Shellback already made a new cummerbund that does the very thing you just described.

really???

brb…

Edit: nah, I’m not seeing it on their website. they have a QD Banshee PC but it costs $110 more than the original.

also, it doesn’t appear to bring the full molle panel up flush with front of the carrier. I think I’d just go with the straps in this case…

Ideally, I would like to find the First Spear Tubes system for sale by itself. I would then rig up a way to attach it to the Banshee cummerbund.

they sell a retrofit cummerbund but it has the 6/12 system of attaching pouches which doesn’t work with molle pouches… :frowning:

6/12 webbing and cummerbund works with MOLLE pouches. It’s compatible. The 6/12 pouches do not work with MOLLE webbing. I have a strandhogg PC with tubes and 6/12 webbing. I use a mix of 6/12 and conventional pouches. Both work very well.

I haven’t tried them myself, but I think this is what you are looking for

I have these on my PIG carrier and they work. Makes putting on the carrier faster and easier.

Mine showed up a few days ago. Great upgrade. It makes getting in and out of the PC much more simple. Just make sure that you secure the (now) extra cummerbund material in a secure manner. I’m currently running 550 cord for that.

I haven’t taken the PC to the range since adding the buckles, but I don’t foresee any change in how i use the carrier, just how long it takes to get it on and off.

absolutely! exactly the solution I was looking for. many thanks…

ah, ok… I saw they have a 9/12 option that is to be used with pals and I thought it was because the 6/12 wouldn’t. good to know…

:dirol:

HOLY INFORMATION!!!

that’s genius addition…thanks, will get one ASAP

I just made a mod to my Banshee. I did not like how the cummerbund could twist out from one side or the other, exposing the lacing, which would then catch on the Velcro flap. I ordered some FDE 1/8" shock cord and some FDE Cord locks and laced the shock cord through the MOLLE on each side of the cummerbund and the rear of the PC. Problem solved.

I had that same issue with my Ares Aspis. Well not so much an issue as an annoyance.

My temporary quick fix was a few small zipties basically where you ran your shock cord. It doesn’t look as durable as yours though(hence quick fix) and definetely not as tactical since it’s just white plastic:jester:.

I bought way more shock cord than I need. Let me know if you need a section or two.

VooDoo Man has a pair of TAG buckle straps in the EE. Good dude to deal with.

I forgot to add this to my other post but I have the PC silencers also. I haven’t had any real chance to try them out yet(I just threw them on to see how it would work), but just from that I do like them a lot.
Especially since I can leave the velcro panel completely enclosed since it wraps up under the PC area(against your stomach). I didn’t like this feature and really like being able to just buckle it on. Call me a worry wort or OCD about feeling like I can’t get the velcro all the way done when putting it on. Just having it for the “ease of mind” for that was enough for me to get one:lol:.

kmrtnsn - Thanks, I will probably take you up on that offer.

this what you guys are talking about?

no, those are what come with the Banshee to use instead of the cummerbund. I tried to rig the cbun up with those to make a QD attachment and avoid the velcro. my results were not satisfactory.

I ordered the Ares Armor Silencers and will report back when I get them…

You can save a few bucks ($10 shipping on a $12 order is nuts!) on the plate carrier silencers if you order from Adaptive Outdoor.
