I have a ban era Colt lower that has a block behind the hammer which prevents the use of a full circle BC. It appears to be installed with an 8mm transverse pin which didn’t budge with a couple of mild taps. Is there a secret to removing this block? Bigger hammer?
Thanks for indulging my first post.
My understanding is it must be milled out. ADCO will do it for around 50 bucks. Then your good to go.
I would not attempt this at home… This is a job that I would send out to a pro…

Thank you gentlemen for the info and the link.
I’d just buy a different lower.
I could see buying a different lower. Why not sale to somebody in such a situation to help finance a new lower?
Leave the sear block in and use a semi BCG. As long as the semi BCG has a full shroud for the firing pin it’ll work fine.
The whole “auto carrier = better” thing is mostly hype.
