The guy teaching this stuff posted these videos, so obviously they are the best representative example that this guy could come up with. He actually charges $300 for his AK Operators class.
There are so many good instructors out there, I hate to see guys that don’t know any better (but are filled with enthusiasm and love AK’s) waste their money because they think this is what good training looks like. Rob, you are right that most of the guys that post here will immediately recognize this as crap. But a lot of the guys on Tim’s board don’t know any better… they just don’t have a point of reference.
If I can prevent one enthusiastic individual from wasting their hard-earned money I’ll be a happy camper.

You know, it really wouldn’t hurt my feelings, AT ALL, if some of you guys joined up on www.theakforum.net and contributed some over in the Practical section.
We could definitely benefit from the advice and commentary from people who’ve been there and done that and who have trained with some of the best in the business.
Makes so much sense now.

I don’t know who this guy is, but I don’t think he is hip shooting. What he is doing is close range shooting from the center axis relock. This guy may be a clown, but this technique is valid, based on my real world experience. Here is a photo of the same technique. Note the stock is on the outside of the arm. Also note that this is a full auto burst. Sorry for the poor quality of the pic, it was taken during a sand storm :).
I must have missed the CAR. I was pretty sure the last guy on line was just bump firing. At least in the video I’m thinking of.

If he is a CAR instructor, that is not hard to get. Hell, I am one too. It is the master level instructors who really rock.
In the first video the first guy they show shooting was indeed using a stock outside the arm technique with his rifle.
I didn’t recognize it partially because I wasn’t paying attention, but mostly because I’ve never had any exposure to CAR rifle techniques. I was taught to tuck the stock underneath the armpit for extreme close quarters stuff with a rifle.

I tried to, last year, just after the August AK class, but either I never got confirmation or if I did get confirmation I was never allowed to log on.
