I have a cool Saiga AK but it has a Godawful bolt hold open. I want to ditch it but I don’t want to cause any issues. What is the best way to ditch it? I certainly don’t care about the little hole/slot.
Just take it apart, and put it back together without the bolt hold open parts.
I was going to take the hold open out of my Saiga 12, but it doesn’t hurt anything, and it does hold the bolt open (…which is nice if you shoot matches with it). The nub is a little long, and it hits my trigger finger. Some day I might get around to shortening it a touch.
