Well, went to the range today. Was going to shoot my p22, 10/22 and 15/22 with the mite. Got to shoot only the p22. After about 30 rnds my shots did not hit paper. I think I shot 2 more and I was like wtf. Then I cleared and looked at the can, and this is what I saw. Contacting YHM tomorrow.
Remington rimfire ammo is shit in the best of circumstances. Subsonic too sounds like as much of a good idea as a sleepover at Michael Jackson’s house.
Hmm. We shoot Remington in my sons 10/22, but I don’t think it is subsonic. Is there any possibility that the can wasn’t straight? I have no experience with YHM cans or how they mount.
I had a strike about a year back on my ops15, no big deal, ops inc… took care of it. Looks like the guts need replaced, yhm should replace it with no problem…
Well after about 2 1/2 weeks I called YHM for a status. I had sent in my p22 and the can. They said they checked it all and all was okay. However, the actual threads on the mite was slightly off, so much so that it constituted in them replacing it free of charge. They said that I will get a new Mite and paper work will be sent to me today.
IF they are replacing the serialized part (the tube), it will require a new form 3 transfer from YHM to your dealer and a form 4 transfer from your dealer to you, plus a $200 check. I would call them and clarify what is happening.
Unless something has changed in the laws the last few years, You should be able to directly send the can back and forth for repair. Being the original manufacturer, YHM should be able to replace the old receiver(tube) with a new one and the old number. There really shouldn’t have to be any paperwork at all. Unless they have no spare tubes on hand for repairs, though that is unlikely.
