Badger mini bolt knob or standard?

Anyone used both and would provide a pro/con between the two?

Neither. Go with a round knob.

Give this a try. I have used them on a couple of Remingtons. They attach easily and provide a very solid handle on the bolt when operating. No mods to the weapon or bolt required.

Since when did modifying your rifle become a cardinal sin? As a general rule, a rifle with a bolt knob is worth more than one without. When equipped with a threaded stud of appropriate spec, the knob options are nearly limitless.

Those plastic clip-on knobs are absolutely hideous. Far from awesome when operating the bolt too. Is it easier to grab than a bare bolt? Sure. That doesn’t make it the best option. … but hey, someone made a mold, coined a name, and can crank them out by the thousand for pennies on the dollar… so why shouldn’t everyone own five of them right?

Any recommendations for a manufacturer/size?

I appreciate the reply but, I’m not a fan of those. I’ve already allocated the funds for the bolt handle mod; it’s now just down to which knob.

I use a Billiard ball like a 70s gear shift knob!

I knew someone was going to weigh in with that one! Eight-ball, cue-ball, or striped? :haha:

My local gunsmith will put a round PTG knob on your rem700 bolt for $65. That includes the price of the knob and the work. You pay shipping. You can send your bolt to him, and he’ll have it back in your hands with a knob on it within 2 weeks. Basically a $10 knob and $55 labor.

Check out the APA offering, tried many before and that one is my favorite for some time now.
