This deals a setback to all the bad ideas for this year, since many of them were going to be attachments to this bill. It doesn’t make them impossible, just a setback.
Keep your eyes on Congress anyway, no honest man is safe while they are in session.

I do have to wonder, though, if certain Senators got their phone lines jammed by 2A supporters after the Boston bombing. I’m not saying there’s any “natural” connection, but every friend I’ve got that I talked to in the last day or so has looked at the bombing and said, “THIS is why we need our gun rights.”

54 for, 46 against. They need 60 “ayes” to pass any of the amendments.
Keep in mind that sneaky Harry Reid voted “no” so he had the option to bring it to vote again at a later date.
Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada switched his vote to no at the end, a procedural tactic that allows him to bring it up for a vote later
So really, it’s 55 to 45 since Reid only voted no to keep his options opened.

No doubt, but the silver lining is that the most likely thing to pass still went down.
Even though, we need to stay vigilant.
Likely to throw his temper tantrum over Constitutional restraints and to let us know that since Congress won’t act, he’ll just pass more illegal executive orders.

It appears as though the AWB amendment is going to fail as well. Of course, Senator Frankenstein’s speech made me want to vomit.
