Check it out if you haven’t seen it fellas. Just something cool to watch with frog lube.
Youtube is great for these DIY projects. I wish he had left the frog lube on for an hour before wiping it off as it says to do for initial treatments.
My package didnt come with instructions I didnt even know about the hour thing
The instructions are taken too literally by yayhoos beaten for coloring out of the lines as kids. Put the shit on, and shoot the gun.
Didn’t froglube change to Seal1 or something?
Don’t think so. I just bought a gallon and it says FROGLUBE.
saw a similar test before I switched to Froglube, been using it for years now, no issues with guns or knives.
Agreed, I run the paste and all I do is slap some on, cycle it a few times by hand and go shooting.
he compares its corrosive resistance when heated first to not heated. doubt it makes a difference to most of us, but interesting none the less

That is a 2 year old video, did you just find it? I think I watched it back then but I never liked or used WD-40 for anything let alone a firearm.
Meh, I abandoned frog lube after trying it for 8-9 months. I stripped all my parts with brake cleaner, used a heat gun, went the whole 9 yards. After a few months, it gummed up into a tacky, sticky substance and began causing short stroking. I stripped the FL off, applied a different lube and the issue went away. I’m not interested in a lubricant that can induce a malfunction. I had the same experience on three different ARs, all initially treated at the same time and shot on differing firing schedules. Others have had good experiences, but I wasn’t one of them.
AR Bolt Carrier Groups warm up naturally during firing… so the parts will eventually treat themselves into a groove.
You have to remove the stuff before you can actually use the gun. Read the instructions.
Most worthless lube evar…
Again… from the guy who has never tried it. Cut the shit.
I am interested to see what, if any, differences Pappabear’s new Gallon of Froglube shows. I’ve read that there’s been formulation changes, and I think we’ve been running an older formula.
People still using that nonsense? Surprised to say the least. Went all In for 6 months, followed the instructions to the letter put 1000 rounds through it then it started attracting all sorts of nasty gung, fine dirt, burnt powder, then nothing but failures. Went back to Slip EWL and have not had any issue after 3000 more rounds.
It’s amazing the polar differences in experiences with this stuff. I have to think it’s a formulation issue… or a funky batch maybe.
We’ve ran the 1/2 gallon batch we originally got for about 3 years now… and we do A LOT of shooting. Never an issue… Like Pappabear posted up above… he bought another gallon of the stuff.
I did try SLIP EWL for a short time… but it was like going back to Mobil 1. Worked ok when it was there, but didn’t stick around like Froglube. I still use lubes like that for low volume guns like bolt actions… since I don’t like froglube for cool running, low volume guns.
I’ve used FL exclusively for two years now and won’t ever look to replace it…IT WORKS!!!
I read the instructions, I’ve read the reviews, I’ve talked to people who ALL had the shit gum up in a few months.
I don’t have to try it to know that it sucks. Unless you’re the type who keeps the gun in an air conditioned room and cleans it every day.
It’s just ridiculous that you pop up every time the topic comes up to say it’s the worst product “evar”, but you’ve not even tried it.
I’m more maintenance intensive than Pappabear. We both shoot our guns in the filthy desert from the prone every weekend. When the wind is blowing the dust sig back on you it gets nasty. Pappa’s guns get much less cleaning than I, and he’s the bigger fan of the stuff than I.
