No need to get personal, stick to the facts, we’re aren’t debating why I’m a moderator. Your elitist attitude isn’t doing much for you here. FYI: Issued weapons are typically made for the masses and typically by the lowest bidder. Not made for ‘you’ personally.

My signature line has my affilation in the gun business and my certifications to follow rule no. 5 and to show some credibility. I could have taken 3 job offers working overseas as an armorer in the last 2 yrs and done all of that as well. My personal married life takes priority so I chose not to take the job offers. My married life is more important to me than money. YMMV.

Your assumption of 3 gun rifles is wrong. I shoot 3gun, have a race rifle and don’t use an adjustable gas block, nor reduced power ammo, nor a longer gas tubes (whatever that means) yet my rifle recoils like a Ruger 10/22 so I guess it does this by FM technology or something (FM=frickin’ magic 
).
I’ll check with Larry Vickers (the 416 father) and a 2 other people (again) who I know are issued the 416s. From the 2 people I know issued them, both say that they run noticeably slower than 10.5" M16s/MK18s and are easier to keep rounds on target on auto.
I don’t know who’s classes you’ve gone to but gas port size is always proportional to barrel length. A factory 10.5" barrel has a different size gas port size than a 11.5", 12.5", 13.7", 14.5", 16", 18", 20" and 24" barrel. A 10.5" and 11.5" will cycle differently, the gas port is different to make the gun reliable and not make the 10.5" cycle at the same rate as the 11.5", 12.5", 13.7", 14.5", 16" and 20" &24" ARs/M16s.
In my experience (32yrs shooting) and 20yrs owning ARs I’ve seen some gas port erosion is as little as 5K rounds in 10"-16" ARs firing real ammo, so your statement is illogical following the rules of logic. (not my rules, Google: deductive reasoning).
