Attack on CA Open Carry Passes Committee 5/12/10

I know there have been a few threads regarding this bill, but I am posting this new thread because of recent developments.

CA AB1934, (which would outlaw open carry of a handgun for self-defense), just passed an Appropriations Committee vote, and will become law if it is approved on the floor of the general Assembly.

If you live in CA and disagree with this legislation, contact your Assemblyman/woman to let them know.

To be quite honest, they might as well pass this legislation. From what I understand about their Open Carry policy is that you can open carry, but the firearm must not be loaded. Well that is kind of useless if you ask me. What are you going to do pistol whip someone. What’s the point.

What they need to lobby for is the ability to conceal carry. Like most other states allow.

IIRC, open carry of a loaded firearm is not illegal in unincorporated areas in CA.

The OC ban will hurt more than the unloaded OC crowd. It will hurt folks who want to openly carry a handgun while hiking.

That is one way to look at it. I look at it different. As in; they should make it legal to carry a loaded gun any damn way you want.

I completely agree 100% It shouldn’t be so damned difficult to exercise your 2nd amendment right in this country.
