You DO want the quick detach I assume? My Pod is dedicated and I saved money buy just getting the standard screw on mount.

Ive been using LT130 for long time on a Harris and it worked fine. Other than $ why not use QD?

Why is this updated model superior?

For me the biggest improvement is the updated pan/tilt/swivel locking knob. Frankly the one on the V8 and previous allows too much movement even when you have it cranked down tight.

The Atlas doesn’t use the Harris mounting style, so the LT-130 won’t work. I already had a LT 271 QD mount, so I got a bare Atlas and was GTG. Much better than the Harris setup I was using previously.
