I called the ATF on 26 Oct to find out they were kicking my Form 4, but have yet to get anything back to find out why and how to fix it. I’m assuming it has to do with my trust, this has been going on for over 6 months now. How long does it usually take for them to send it back and do they send it to me or my dealer?
The NFA Inspector should have been able to tell you why. Depending on how far away from WVA you are, you should have it in the mail quite soon with a form attached to the front outlining the errors that need correcting.

Call the N.F.A. and ask to talk to your examiner. They will tell you what you are lacking or need to fix I didn’t send all the trust paperwork and that held up mine for a bit, but as soon as I did the issue was resolved.

It should have come back with a piece of paper with a deficiency checklist and an “other” box for write ins.

what did the rejection letter say?
they are normally pretty specific.
Also, the good news is that even though you screwed something up, you generally don’t go to the end of the line when you send the forms back corrected as required. I’ve had as small as a 3 day turnaround, and as long as a one week turnaround.

The examiner finally called me back and I found out they had sent the deficiency letter to my dealer the week before. :(They contacted the attorney’s who did my trust because the ATF had kicked back 6 other Form 4’s at the same time and were trying to figure out exactly how to correct it. I talked with one of the attorney’s, redid my Trust and Schedule A (pretty sure my that was fine), notarized it, and I just mailed it to my dealer.
Funny thing is same attorney did the trust for another M4C buddy about 2 weeks before mine and he was approved… in August!

Didn’t you tell us previously that the issue was lack of notary stamp? Was there something more going on?

It went to Legal Review because of the lack of notary, then I guess they had a problem with the naming? I was pretty tired when the attorney called me back…

My form 4 was rejected because of the trust was part of an estate. That was in July, when I checked it didn’t go pending again until Oct 4th. Does the whole process start again from the Oct 4th date or from the original pending date? I am wondering if the dealer is giving me a line.
