Assault and Mutilation of Border Patrol Agent, Deming NM Area

This: https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/local-media-release/border-patrol-agent-assaulted

The word is that the agent’s fingers were cut off.

Probably the cartel’s work but these days, who knows.

I wish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZeYVIWz99I

They laugh at us because we don’t have the political will to bring these guys to justice.
I feel for the guy, no one protecting their Nation deserves this kind of torture.

Fingers cut off. Want to know what was carved in his skin.

Could be wrong, but fingers cut off, something carved in skin, and he was left alive. Seems message being sent and fingers being cut off is classic for thief. If ears cut off, not following orders.

May be completely wrong, but methodology suggests he was taught a lesson and a message being sent to others in same position. We will most likely never know truth b/c “victim” isn’t going to confess to working with BG’s. He’ll call it random or; blame on ex’s new beau, robbery gone wrong, etc. If he cops to it, he’s getting his sh** pushed in.

Unfortunately, I think you may be correct.

I hope Trump is a Tom Clancy fan

sadly with some being on the take I do kinda wonder if this was a bad as you say a lesson for others and his punishment ?

if not bad deal but also shows why we need not only a wall but a stop to all coming in with a record or bad and control of those

There are undoubtedly and unfortunately others on the take and they need to be weeded out by the administration.

I understand the border is getting more dangerous for the officers. I wish their rules of engagement could be drastically upgraded in favor of the officer’s right to defend himself.

Or they could just hate BPA’s and did him up in a way to cast a bad light on him as well as torture him.

It doesnt help when some random dude stops you at the gas station and shows you a picture of your kids getting on the school bus, I can see how these guys get compromised. I think the border needs to be more porous, for our guys, and we should stop caring about Mexico’s national sovereignty. They cannot and will not bring a stop to the cartel violence, their inability or unwillingness to act on our behalf invites our guys into their country to clean up their mess.

We need another John Pershing and a Punitive Expedition Dos.

I wouldn’t take issue with using the Southern Border as a training area for our Military.
They don’t have to arrest or detain, just push the information forward to DEA, BP, ICE and the State Police/DPS.
The more eyes on something the less likely it is to get away or to be compromised by corruption.

There’s a lot of truth and reality in this post. Walk a mile in someone’s shoes something or other.

I’d love to see that happen. We don’t have the balls for it, but one can always hope though.

For a crime this savage, it’s not getting a lot of play in the New Mexico media. Rumors are the FBI has put a tight lid on the investigation and if the details are true, there’s more to this than a random kidnapping and mutilation/torture.

The border near Lordsburg and Deming have seen a decrease in large drug activity, but there’s still incidents of locals trying to smuggle smaller shipments hidden on their bodies. Even teenage residents of this side of the border at Columbus have been trying to bring the goods in. I agree that an increased military presence there would a help.

A decade ago I was on horseback in that area when DHS was trying out a system called SBInet with a series of high tech towers and other gear. If I recall Boeing was the contractor on that. I knew some landowners that have property right up to the border and the government was trying to get rights of way for these towers by offering decent sums of money. At the same time had a chance to visit Playas, New Mexico, a former Phelps Dodge Mining town that was purchased by the government. It’s now used as a anti-terror training center.

No matter how this plays out long term its bad juju for all involved.

I truly dont think Pershing would get much done these days. The Cartels are used to being hammered. We dont need another country to invade. WE just need a liberal free fire and mine zone on our side of the border. If we can authorize folks shoot someone for approaching AF1, then the same should be true for the nation.

This was my first thought when I heard what had happened to him.

Unfortunately that did not really work out all that well. Helluva story, though: https://www.amazon.com/Chasing-Villa-Last-Campaign-Cavalry/dp/0944383394/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1497329401&sr=1-1&keywords=chasing+villa

While we didn’t get our primary target, we definitely racked up most of his crew.

It’s not really a conclusion so much as a hypothesis or investigative theory. One of many to consider, but valid due to known patterns of behavior in cartel violence.

My thoughts. Agent was off-duty which makes me wonder how he was identified? I know a lot of BP agents and most of them look like normal Joe’s.

The agent was tortured and had fingers removed (which smells like something personal). My gut tells me that people are looking into his finances and other things. Maybe this was simply a random abduction/torture session, but I wouldn’t think it would be in the interest of any cartel to do such a thing.
