With all the talk last year of the ARX160 getting produced here… Is that still happening? Anyone have any info?
I don’t know. If I owned the company, I’d wait for the political/legislative mess to settle.
It would suck to setup a production line only to have to rip it apart if a ban is implemented. No CEO in his right mind would risk this kind of investment in this climate.![]()
Looks like it will come to the states. Thanks to Military Arms for the info!
So far MAC is reporting that it will be released in Mar as the ARX-100 but he is the only one reporting this. Interview with Ben Cook of Beretta only mentions a .22 version to be released in Mar. Not sure to make of this except to say if Beretta is going to release a 5.56 version it must be the quietest release in gun manufacturing history. Hoping to find something from my LGS who went to SHOT. With only one source reporting a release of the 5.56 version, I am not putting a lot of faith in it till I hear from more sources.
I can confirm this after talking with Beretra at Shot. They are releasing it under the ARX-100 designation. Msrp will be under 2k.
The strange lack of hype for the release does concern me. Frustrating…
If, like MAC says, manufacturing starts in February, you would think there would be ARX-100s all over the place and Beretta talking everyone’s ear off about it, not hocking the .22lr.
On Beretta Forum, Allegheny Gun Works, appears to be saying a June release. First second report I have seen but hopefully it will happen. Of course concern is the price since with the current market bet dealers will be asking 50-100% over MSRP. If so a few will buy who can afford it but those are the same individuals paying 6-8K for a SCAR.:suicide:
At Shot they didnt have any of the military style items at the main Beretta Booth, it was all in a seperate booth. And in the booth the ARX was kinda hidden away. Its almost like they are trying to curb the hype.
VIP3R,
Understand but for those who have been following and want to buy, it seems like this is a repeat of the ACR marketing. I think it would better for Beretta to shove lots out to ensure they get their R&D investment back but afraid it will be a trickle a few out at a time.
My guess is by June either a ban will be in place or fears of it will have subsided, giving the market time to catch up, and leaving a lot of panic buyers in some debt. Hopefully the summer will be a good time to buy some guns.
Hopefully. May have to sacrice a few grapes or pasta to the Beretta Gods to get it out and at a affordable price. Just wish we could get some firm confirmation from Beretta rather than trolling the net for scraps. :dirol:
Hopefully they won’t de-feature it and make it a shadow of itself.
According the the Military Arms Channel on youtube, the civilian version will be called the ARX 100
The rep explained that it will be made in their US facility and the only difference between the 160 and the 100 will be select fire capability. He also mentioned that shorter barrels will be available in the future.
Beretta has a long history of not promoting guns. Did you ever see a magazine ad for the 92 Elite series? I love a lot of their guns, but Beretta couldn’t market free sex.
My new sig.
VIP3R or anybody else who spoke to Beretta,
Any idea if the ARX to be released will be available in FDE or is it only going to be black? Have heard all manufacturers are eliminating cerakoting or anythig that delays porduction but with ARX thought it would be primarily a case of the polymer material color but could be wrong. Appreciate any info anybody has.
Before people get all hot and bothered by the 22LR version, it’s made by Umarex, like all the Tacitcal 22s seem to be these days beside the SIG 522…
I saw rifles in both colors, but i didnt think to ask at the time.
Darn and it is impossible for a consumer to get any info from Beretta. Do you think you could check with your Beretta rep or do you go through a distributor who deals with Beretta? Appreciate what you can find out and share.
