The 3 day Magpul Carbine 1 Course that I attended was a great class! Without a doubt the best carbine/patrol rifle course I have ever attended! The instructor, Steve Fisher, was very knowledgeable and a great instructor. As expected in a “basic carbine” course we covered all the basics of shooting a carbine, but Steve took it a step further, pushing the class to be even better than we thought we could with the carbine. We shot everyday out to 200 yards making consistent hits on 8 inch steel, something that none of the class thought we could do on the first day. Two very important things I learned from the class were we need good weapons mounted lights and reminded that the sling has a very important use in shooting positions. After taking this course I am already making adjustments to the material we teach in our “Patrol Rifle Course” and our “Officer Survival Course” to add some of the things I learned and the drills we performed on the range to make our officers better operators with a patrol rifle.
