Okay hive mind. Here’s one for you. Does anyone make a armor carrier/plate carrier in navy blue, blue blue, or red? I know grey ghost had some when they first got up and going (should have bought one then) but now i’m hard pressed to find one. Ideally I’d like to find one to match our uniforms (but i’d have to source the material and pay out the ass to some “custom” maker for a rig).
So… anyone?
A lot of manufacturers wont even do runs of their products in black much less Navy Blue. Most agencies around me are turning to colors like ranger green as a result.
I believe Grey Ghost got their stuff from Tactical Tailor. You could try giving Tactical Tailor a call, I’ve had custom stuff done by them that wasn’t any more expensive than their retail. Only question would be the blue.

I bought one of the Tactical Tailor red MOLLE covered armor carriers from GGO. Hell of a deal @ $20, save they wouldn’t take Long-sized armor.
I originally tried to get a blue one, but they sold out. I have not seen a similar deal anywhere for a year. I would suggest looking at TAG and seeing if any remainder Shellback carriers come up for sale or if RedCat Tactical has any carriers left.
Did you check out Gall’s? I think I recall seeing some a few years back in Navy blue. I know they have EMS oriented vests as well, but not sure if they’re doing plate carriers.
Get the lightest color tan you can find and then:
Works fairly well actually. Play with a spare mag pouch first to get your concentration and times down. You can match most shades of uniform blue with a little experimentation I’m sure. If you want range instructor red that’s real easy to do on tan.
BTW Rit dye will partially dye any plastic on your gear as well (fastex buckles for instance), and basically anything that’s not metal. It will however usually not give it the same shade as fabric.

Tyr Tactical had something recently in blue with plates for a great price. I am not seeing it on their website now, but it may be worth giving them a call. The whole set up was around $300 and included some pouches.
