Armalite AR10A 18T

Brand new AR10 A
8.6 pounds naked.
Very nice trigger.

In time I may change out the brake on it … perhaps a three prong.
Overall a very nice AR10, with an excellent trigger.
Purchased it from PSA at a very reasonable price.

If anyone else has one and wants to offer any
advice it will be appreciated.
There is not much out there one these rifles.
I’m surprised.

Thanks in advance.

What is the intended use?

began breaking the bore in

fire two cartridges slowly, then swabbed the bore

stop after five cycles of this

I was only using some NATO surplus and not shooting onto paper.

Overall very nicely balanced and shootable.
Presently using a 1-6 variable.
All the brass piled up at 4 o’clock.

Does anyone have a pet ‘load’ that they are willing to share. ?

I am done ( perhaps ) with seasoning the barrel.
Once my weather clears off will be shooting onto
paper.

Thanks in advance

What powder do you have on hand?

I really liked the 168 Amax back when I had an LR308, but I was only shooting to 600 back then. Nowadays, 155 Bergers or Sierras get used in the bolt guns out to 1K.

H4895 is what I use most. One friend swears by 4064, Another likes Varget and the 175 SMK. Shooters World Precision is another good one.

to begin … I will use Varget and H4895 with 168’s to 175’s.
As much as my ‘web’ research has shown, those weights seem to do well.

I do have on hand a single box of 155 Hornady A-Max.
The barrel being as it is, may favor the heavier weights.

Thanks for your suggestions
