Are we sure we want McCain?

This might be old news to everyone, but I thought I would share it.

Looks like McCain would be bad for our guns.

I don’t think we have a choice at this point. Despite what that ad for Ron Paul might lead you to believe, I still think that either of the alternatives on the other side will be far worse than McCain. And this is coming from someone who has despised his mere existence since he started talking president many moons ago.

At this point, I think the future looks quite grim for gun owners in general and enthusiasts in particular.

Damnit.

I don’t know anything about the guy that wrote this article but it seems to me he is just mad that Ron Paul is out of the race. McCain will probaly make a few laws but I doubt anything extreme such as an assault weapons ban.

Huh?

For example, if John McCain’s proposed legislation were to become law, a gun owner who travels with a gun through a school zone or who uses one of the family handguns to go target shooting with a 15-year old could be sent to prison. And a person who uses a gun for self-defense could be sent to prison for a mandatory minimum of five years.

I would think that although none of us might have picked McCain from an infinite field of choices, he will be better than Clinton or Obama.

Would you prefer Obama or Billary?

It amazes me that when I look at the democratic side, I find someone running who scares me more that Clinton. Obama’s voting record has him rated as the most current liberal senator.

McCain isn’t a prize( I’m from Arizona and I know all about his penchant for crossing the aisle), but he is a better viable option than the rest of the people still in the running.

How often in life do we get what we regard as perfect? And I’m not a McCain fan. Just the best of a sorry lot.

I do not think that anyone should believe what they see or read from any “news” media. But I do think that these elections are not going to be good for us no matter what happens.

Sorry, but that guy just seem like a hater.

“a John McCain Presidency would be far worse than a Barack Obama Presidency.”
Yeah, he is a hater. No base in reality there.

“15 votes relating to the right to keep and bear arms, Senator John McCain voted favorably only 4 times.”

Well, that dosen’t tell us much. What where the votes on. What where those 11 of 15 votes the are holding aginst him? What are the four votes favorable to gun owners? A vote aginst the AWB was one of the four for sure. Something Obama or Clinton would love to sign.

So to answer the question, “Are we sure we want McCain?”…

YES. Not my first choice, but of the 3 in position to beome President I say HELL YES!

I think Ron Paul would be great for the 2A and our out of control government spending.

I know he is a long shot but I have hopes for his victory.

I guess if McCain is our only choice he is better than a Dem. Pres and Dem. House for sure.

When my choices are between McCain, Obama, and Clinton … absolutely.

I’m not playing the lesser of 2 evils game anymore.especailly since I get no gain from it.I can care less who gets in at this point. It dosen’t matter if we are sold out buy Republicans or democrats bottom line is we lose.I’ll be voting in the election but Im not voting for president I’ll leave that one blank.
I’d rather drag my sack across ten miles of broken glass soaked in Habenaro juice than to see another liberal in office it dosen’t matter if he’s a republican or democrat

The only good thing about McCain is maybe he’ll croak before his term is up since he’s so damned old.

But no matter which of these devils takes office, you can take another Weapons ban to the bank, Frank!

No matter what that article says, I still believe that McCain is more pro-gun then he lets on to be. Just something at little birdie told me…and I have to leave it at that.

Whoever is elected - Obama, Clinton OR McCain - will be bad for our country. I will vote on election day but not for any of them.

Someone in CalGuns claimed that 2006 actually made Congress more Pro gun than it had been and will likely stay that way (due to a high number of blue dog democrats who got elected who are pro gun). If that is true (and this guy is a credible source when it comes to politics) then there is some insulation from the President when it comes to new laws.

I’ll take McCain any day over Billary or Osama^h^h^h^hbama and hopefully he will bring along a bunch of COngressmen and stuff on his coattails who would most likely be better than the Democrats who would ride the coattails of Obama or Billary.

Some conservative group ranked McCain at around 80 or 83% (from memory) and the Democratic Alternatives are much lower than that so I will tale the lesser or 2 evils. Gun rights will suffer more under a Democratic president than under McCain.

Chad

Yeah! Mr. Champion of closing the mythical Gun Show Loophole is really never going to sign another ban!

Well, he voted against the 94 ban and voted against attaching a renewal to the Lawful Commerce in Firearms act two years ago.

He has opposed something Bush said he would sign if it hit his desk.

Who do you think he will get more votes from?? People against guns or for them. That is all presidential candidates care about during election times.

Tell me one presidential candidate that has done everything that was promised during an election.

Are we sure we want McCain?

Given the apparent choices; yes.
