I have seen reports of erratic ejection from the Gen 4 Glocks. Are the new gen 4 glock 26’s having problems now? I would like to get a new one but I don’t want to buy a problem.
Also, are you guys seeing them in stores anywhere? It seemed like they were a little less in demand that the ones that held over ten rounds. Is that still the case?
I have 500+ rds through my gen4 26 with zero problems, including ejection.
FWIW - i had always read of 26s shooting better than 19s or 17s , and I never believed it. Trust me - under 15 yards, I shoot the 26 better than my 17s. Go figure:). john
I have only been able to take mine out once but I got a few hundred rounds through it. It’s a Gen 4 26 born in Dec. 2012. No problems to this point.
Several in my charge all running without issue. My own EDC is at a little over 1000rds since late Dec. They are available and in circulation, but in high demand.
We have several other threads running right now discussing the status of current production Glocks.
Buy one and shoot it.
I never had issues with mine, other than it being too small for me.
I have 2 Gen 4. G26s.
One was manufactured in 2011 and you get an occasional BTF.
The other was manufactured in late 2012 has sent BTF a time or two in 1000 + rounds.
Both pistols have been 100% reliable and shoot great.

Let’s think about this for a minute… Which Gen3 Glocks already had a dual recoil spring?
I’ll wait. Think.
Folks, the Gen4 Glock 26 never had any issues to begin with. At least not to my knowledge. It was only the Gen4 Glock 17s, 19s, and 34s that have or were having issues. So when I hear people talk about their Gen4 Glock 22s, 23s, 26s, or 21s perform flawlessly it doesn’t mean much.
The Glock 26/27 already had a dual recoil spring assembly people. Yes in Gen3.
I didn’t see dual recoil spring mentioned until Littlelebowski’s post.
I believe some of the issues involve teething pains with the new Extractors, NOT the dual recoil spring assembly on the G26.
My Gen 4 G26 has become a favorite. 900 malf free rounds and my avatar is a group fired 25 yds offhand. Still have the “.” connector in it.
Maybe it is early, but i don’t understand this post.
What is a BTF?
the glock 26 did not change the recoil spring system going from gen3-gen4 and as such is unlikely to be affected in the gen 4. I have never heard of an issue with gen4 G26s.
Timbo, the G26’s have always been “good to go”. I have a Gen 3 and a Gen 4 and they great.
Brass to face.
The org. Poster never mentioned recoil spring assembly! Someone just ASSumed it down in the thread.![]()
There have been increased reports of btf and ejection issues since glock made some changes to the extractor/ejectors etc… Even the g26s have had changes made!
Btw, my wifi is down and posting from an iPhone sucks!
Brass to face. Makes sense now. Thanks.
I my Gen4 G26 last month, test fire date was 6/2012. With Remington PMC 115g I had one case hit my right forearm, another ejected 6 o’clock but missed my face. With Federal AE 124g no BTF or weak ejection issues. I like the pistol.
If you dont mind my asking, whats the “.” connector? Very nice grouping in that avatar by the way.
My gen3 26 was test fired from factory on June 14 2012. It had a stove pipe with a CA compliant G17 10 rounder on the last round. That was the only issue Ive experienced in a little over 600 rounds now.

Thanks for the input guys. I did know that the 26 already had a dual recoil spring assembly. But, I’ve also heard about problems with the extractor. What I knew prior to starting this discussion is that the 26’s had “less” problems than the other 9mm’s. That’s still all that I know. But, if I can find one for a decent price I’ll probably get it and take my chances. Sounds like the odds are pretty good I’ll be OK. If not, Apex here I come.
