I just bought a VTAC and need a set of QD swivels. Looking around, they all seem to be made out of different materials, finishes and come in all different prices.
I just made another LaRue order for a few items but couldn’t spend the ~$15 each for these silly swivels.
Is one better then the other? I will be hooking in to my Emod stock and my LaRue 7" handguards.
I like the KAC swivels - real heavy duty.
I do not know who makes them but it seems there are 2 kinds. One is rough around the sides, which I guess is the cheap one. The other is smooth, heavy duty? I doubt there are many companies making them and most just order them from the few that do.
If I am wrong feel free to flame me.
Some are smoother and more “refined”. And some will not allow full rotation of swivel to keep sling straight and not twisted. Some like and some dont like that feature.
My VTAC showed up today…just need swivels! Decisions, decision! Where’s a good place to get them? No place seems to have a selection. LOL

Just to name a few…
some of them don’t always fit the same I have two different types, some wont lock in on other swivels mounts the ball bearings need to set deeper in to mount to lock.
I just wish the small one that came on my padded Vickers UDC sling had a taller button. When I try to disengage it from the DD receiver QD point wearing the thinnest gloves I have (Mechanix) it’s nearly impossible to depress the button far enough. 
I’m thinking about just hitting it with a welder and file to shape.

I don’t like big buttons on the swivel, as I want detaching the sling to be a very deliberate thing.
That is my main concern. I will be connecting into LaRue and Vltor. I just want to make sure what I buy will fit both.
This is the one I mentioned above. Great design unless you shoot with gloves. You’ll most likely have to remove a glove to release it. The way these work requires a deliberate push/pull motion. I don’t see much possibility of an inadvertent release unless you’re fiddling with it.
That’s an excellent point. The one thing I didn’t like about my MI QD swivel was that it can be difficult to detach. But now that you mention it, I should want the detachment to be a deliberate thing. Thanks…
