Hello I have a bcm upper on a dd lower its my truck gun. I had a holosun mounted on it and I noticed the mount for the holosun snapped inside the mount so I couldn’t take it off so I drilled it out and while drilling the mount off it took a little bit of the top rail off not enough to make a hole or anything but it took a corner chunk of the rail off. is it a big deal as far as function goes? Can it cause issues? My adm mount covers it and like I said I don’t care what it looks like since it is cover but would it be worth it to replace the whole receiver? I will link some pictures.
I’d take a file to any high spots and apply some aluminum black. The way that your mount spans the broken section, I don’t see that it would cause a problem.
I just didn’t know if it could somehow cause reliability or integrity issues. That’d be fine. Nothing says you even have to touch it up. I cant see that chip causing any issues with reliability or integrity.
