AR10 vs DPMS type barrel nut threads clarification needed

Hi everyone,

is there any difference between ar10 pattern and dpms type receiver threads?

for example daniel defense would offer multiple barrel nuts for its 7.62 rail, but watching on brownells the MI SS series for AR10/Rock river handguards reviews, i seen that quite a few people says they have installed it properly on DPMS rifles…

so im just wondering… please share if anyone have better info… thanks!

DPMS/SR-25 uppers have a 1 7/16"-16 thread pitch. Armalite/Noveske use 1 7/16"-18.

Definitely not something you want to try and install on the wrong thread pitch upper.

Most certainly not interchangeable, regardless of what someone wrote or claimed in a video.

FYI - Midwest Industries offers rails with barrel nuts specific to DPMS and Armalite pattern rifles.

…as does SLR Rifleworks.

thanks everyone for the answers
