I received a DPMS stripped .308 lower for Christmas.
I need help with a parts list. Will AR15 buffer tubes &
F/F forearms fit? And do I need to use a DPMS upper?
Some AR-15 parts will Interchange with DPMS pattern LR-308’s.
The buffer tube is one of them, the forearms generally don’t, they
need to be designed for the LR-308…

ETA: The buffer tube is the same, the buffer and spring are different in the LR-308 (the [buffers] are shorter on
the LR-308, as the BCG is longer on the LR-308 versions). I wanted to clarify this as you asked if the buffer tube
is the same and not the buffer & buffer spring…

The standard RE(buffer tube) will work only with .308 buffer or slash heavy buffer. You can not use a standard AR buffer with the .308 and the standard AR RE!! If you use AR10 RE/Vltor A5 use can use a standard length AR carbine buffer. I use the Vltor A5 RE with a H3 buffer with a Armalite AR10 carbine spring in my .308 build.
Think about weight while you’re building this. Will you be hauling it for long stretches? Or will it jsut be coming out of bag?
It will require a different buffer spring and buffer depending upon which stock you’re looking to get.
