I finished tweaking my RRA Tactical CAR-A4.

I got it out to the range today for sighting in the irons, and Eotech.

I started out at 25 yds it took about 20 rds to get the irons dialed in and another 15 to get the Eotech dialed.

Then it was on to 50 and I had to run about 10 rds to get the elevation dialed with the Eo. I made a slight elevation adjustment to lolipop the front iron and it was good to go, the irons were dead on too.

The rest of the day was spent punching the centers out of targets at 50 and 100 yds.

I ran 150 rds of .223 Black Hills 75gr MHP thru it and finished up with 10 rds of Fiocchi 62 gr FMJ and 30 rds of 5.56 M855 Ball to just to test how well other ammo would run thru it. No malfs or weird behaviors.

I got home and spent some quality time cleaning it up, I ran it pretty wet with Militec and I was surprised how easily it cleaned up.

I’ve added a DD 10" Lite Rail, DD Low profile gas block, Troy frt folding sight, Black buffer, 5 coil spring and crane oring to the bolt. I (Gotm4 actually) also properly staked the gas carrier key, and I added some XTM panels. I finished it up with a Vltor Emod stock.

Looks very nice. I have used the Larue rails for years now but I have really been thinking about trying the DD. How do you like them?

I have a BCM Middie that I need some rails on and I have been looking hard at the Lite Rails.

I have a Larue LT-110 on the way, I want to be able to add a 3x Magnifier and I don’t see anyway to do that with the Dominator. The Lite rails are tight and light.

I agree with you on the dominator.

Thanks for the feedback on the rails. If you had it to do all over again would you still go with the Lite rails?

I’ve only used the Larue rails on mine but I have been wanting to try either the Lite rails or maybe the Omega.

Yes I will for roughly the same price you get a monolithic front rail, they really fit closely to the barrel and other than the hassle of needing a proprietary barrel nut wrench the install was a breeze and the lockup to the receiver is really tight and the combo with their gasblock is really light. Their barrel nut also eliminates the hassle of getting everything lined up for the gas tube. The finish is really good. The only thing that seems to be missing is a QD socket.
