This is NOT my work, but is a salvage from the old Maryland AR15 Shooters MSN group. Many here have asked me to look for it and I finally found it on an old hard drive.
I would be happy to maintain/add to the baseline if people wan to post known weights here in this thread. If you have pictures of your items on the scale that would be even more helpful to avoid any confusion.

Ouch. My KISS build comes in at an estimated 9.16 lbs with magazine and M193.
I can’t understand the usefullness of the chart. I have built several ARs and they all function perfectly without knowing how much each part weighs.
What am I missing?
Weight is an important element to some people when choosing between one part and another. weight, cost, functionality… they are all aspects of the decision-making process.
If your rifle has never felt too heavy to you, you’re not using it enough. 
Some folks might be concerned with weight and want the lightest parts. Some folks might be torn between two parts and take the lightest one. Some folks might want to build a rifle on paper and know what it weighs. If you build a full rifle on paper and bought it only to find it weighed 16 lbs, you might be a little bummed knowing that you could have saved a few hundred dollars, shaved off parts not worth the weight, and gotten a lighter build.
Imagine you want scope A because it’s 1% better than scope B and they cost the same. Why get a worse scope? What if scope A weighed 4x more than scope B? Still worth it? I doubt it.
Ounces are pounds and pounds are pain. It matters for some folks.

Great chart. Here is a short list of additions with the accompanying picture. The scale is nothing fancy, but it seems to be reasonably accurate, and will measure as little as 1 gram.
Magpul MOE pistol grip with bottom cap and included flathead fastener:
2.7 ounces or 77 grams.
Complete BCM BCG:
11.5 ounces or 325 grams.
Vltor EMOD stock (storage compartments empty):
13.7 ounces or 388 grams.
Magpul PMAG w/ window, loaded w/ 30 rounds 55gr FMJ (current gen pmag):
17.1 ounces or 485 grams.

Guys, I appreciate the pictures, but any chance that you can resize them down? I don’t think we need images 1300 pixels wide just to read the weight information. I’m working off of a 22" screen and it’s still a pain in the ass to scroll up and down.
Something in the 600 pixel wide range would be MUCH better.
