AR/help needed

Hello people I posted a thread befor I went to work and now I have lost it.
boy can’t you tell I am a noob.

Any how I have a dpms 20’ ss bbl varmint flat top upper topped with millet mounts and a 4 1/2 x 14 burris fullfield 2 mil dot. I have just ordered the new CMC chip mccormick drop in trigger group which all I know is what I read . I am wanting to have 2 inches cut off my barrel and then have it threaded and apply an AAC ranger 2 silencer that I am thinking of buying . I am trying to get a good gun going here …

I need any imformation I can get on any of my combination ,

What should I expect out of my trigger group ?
has anyone tried them ?
how qiet will the silencer be ?
do I need to cut the barrel off or will the extra weight even be noticeable ? how accurate will it be if I cut it off or if I don’t with the can?
Has anyone seen or put a can on a 20’’ bbl and how did it turn out ?
what is you honest opinon on the whole thing ?

If it helps I am useing this gun for varmint mainly coyotes and yes I know it's heavy but I like that way .
Right now I am geting some groups under an inch @ 200 yards with my factory what seems like 15 lb trigger. hopfully the cmc will stop that ...

Hello the search button is your friend and you can find your own thread that way. If you dont mind me asking do you need a supressor to hunt coyotes?

What should I expect out of my trigger group ? The CMC isnt the most reliable.
has anyone tried them ? yes do a search and you can read reports
how qiet will the silencer be ? Sounds like a unsupressed .22
do I need to cut the barrel off or will the extra weight even be noticeable ? A little
how accurate will it be if I cut it off or if I don’t with the can? Depends on whos doing it.
Has anyone seen or put a can on a 20’’ bbl and how did it turn out ? I havent

what is you honest opinon on the whole thing ? There are better rifles and components out there. You asked.

You must be looking to do some serious damage to the local coyote pack if you want to start hunting them with a silencer.

you guys are missing the point … better guns man? come on get real 85% of shooters today do not shoot better than their guns even if they were shooting a shot gun. I’ve out shot some of the best guns out there from H.S windrunners sako you name it their trash if the shooter does not know how to use them .and done it with cheaper class guns … and theres nothing better than showing up a cocky paper puncher been shooting comp his whole life and a newbie 24 year old breaks his records with in his first few shoots … I love the reaction … I’m not much on bragging but people that thinks the gun is going to improve their skills come on … my best accuracy is out of my XR 100 range master 22-250 I can keep 5 shot groups under 4’’ @500yards all day in good weather conditions useing only a 4 1/2 X 14 burris full field
any how

the silencer is not for the dogs it’s for me seems like every thing I shoot rings my ears these days been shooting since about 6 years old never use protection much … + i love shooting my ar’s other than hunting and most of the time I am walking not at a gun range …( were targets are placed and their distance measured!) I can go from a nice morning hike to a serious day of varmint hunt in the blink of an eye … I am always prepared … I could get a 14 inch supressed colt with adjustable stock weighing in at about 7lbs as I could put a scope on my 20’’ colt A2 hbar but I like the weight thats my trick to being able to out shoot most people free hand.,… heres one for ya take a coffee can what 7’’ wide about 10 ‘’ tall @200 yards. my XR100 I have had many of dime size 5 shot groups at that range… my dpms factory trigger around an inch both suitable to take out a coffee can at that range. Ok make it challenging you have walked up n down hills through fields and valleys couple miles “and” theirs your coffee can 200 yards away from a standing position free hand with 10mph cross wind and a light rain comeing down now give that can a set of eyes looking at you and a heart beat think you can hit it . think it would make a difference if you had a $300 gun or $3000 now go to your range put out your coffee can under your condidtions take your best or most expensive gun which ever it be and hit it from free hand standing position … if you miss. well most likly the average paper puncher will. as for me thats just another day I make shots better than that in worse conditions it’s what I do … I am the idiot you will find out in the middle of no were on a windy day with freezing rain packing a 15lb gun matches cigs, sharp knife, salt, pepper, toilett paper, 10ft of string and cell phone . and what ever else it takes to get the critter I am after .

Now that we know what I think I know and you understand I know how to kill ,I know how to shoot ,and I know what guns I want to do both with …

Back to the CMC trigger group which I know little about .
AND lets not forget the silencers I know nothing about .

I asked questions and got questions for answers so I give reasons to those questions and still lack answers…

You have a real cocky attitude for someone looking for information.

well man I know what I know and I ask about something I don’t know and they try telling me what I know.

the problem is people have needs and want that differ from others and just because one person thinks it may not make sense should not make it senseless or nonsense.

Well since you know what you know than you should know that the DPMS isnt the best in reliability and that since you own so many Colts that those would make a better platform for a supressor. Also the CMC trigger isnt the best.

To quote you “If it helps I am useing this gun for varmint mainly coyotes” why bring it up if you dont want it brought up?

dpms is one of the more accurate ars out there and every thing in mine is chrome or stainless for wet and nasty weather it is a flat top were my colts are carry handle and i did not know about cmc but they have changed design …
I was oringinaly looking at jp,RR,jard RR is 2 stage and I like lil travel in my triggers all of these triggers was going to cost artound $200 but since CMC rebuilt theirs the price on all others dropped out to about $100 range which lead me to think maybe CMC took the market with their easy drop in and forced the market down on others for sale . I did read some on the old cmc haveing problems with double tap in action shoots they fixed it or said they have and cmc have reveiws every were but i was hopeing on first hand live use maybe someonein here had one same with the silencers which from reading I don’t think you can really buy a bad one , but I have seen two pictures of the quick detaches blown up don’t know what the cause but it looked nasty. and i like the idea of being able to thread it too any 22 cal gun I might decide to have threaded I have researched all of them and two caught my eye the HTG aries and the AAC ranger2 there has been alot of conflic going around on the quality of the HTG I really don’t know whats true ! and I hear that AAC has bad customer service … I also have been looking at a recoil buffer and would like information on it … I posted hopeing for someone with hands on experience … maybe a reliable source … and my colt does not come close to out shooting my dpms with it’s match grade 1n9 twist barrel and i’ve put it against a few knob creek junkies I shoot comp with on accasion and their bushmasters and armalites did not want any part of it … and 2 of them are former knob creek 1st place shooters … maybe i just got a good one i don’t know or maybe people are scared of a low end AR 15 i’ve never heard one thing bad about them from people who own them … i will admit mine new was a little grimmy feeling but i polished a few parts and cycled it a couple thousand times and if you close your eye and drop the charge handle a few time you could not tell it from any high end AR …shoot a dpms i think you will like one thats cleaned up and the qality as far as what meets the eye is as good as any i mean pick up a stag arms and look and feel it it’s not the same … to me it is like ok i’ve shot and won a few action pistol IPSI shoots speed is a major key most of your targets are around 25 yards and closer none are very small i shot a spingfield XD 9mm service all stock my 15 round mags made it a challenge against the supra’s 27/33 round mags … now don’t get me wrong the XD shot good but it did not have to shoot real good to win and I was useing a $400 pistol against STI $2500 pistols why buy a gun that cost $2500 I mean they will put bullet behind bullet but all they had to do was keep it inside 6’’ at around the 25 yard range … thats the same concept of me buying cooper varmint and rolling around in the snow with it in 10 degree weather and then setting in a 80degree house in the corner and leaveing it see were i am going with this …

ok here is why I have the set up I have

extra heavy barrel 20’’ ss match grade ‘’’
very stable ( steady off hand shooting / easy follow up shots +multiable targets
less recoil (easy follow up shots) ( visible impact) + multiable targets
thick barrel heats up slower / reduces vibration / improves accuracy
rust and stain resistant / harsh climates / less maintance

SILENCER

less distinguished sound patern / less muzzle flash/ for populated areas
stealthy / no hearing protection /less hearing damage / not as likely to flinch from sound
less recoil (easy follow up shots) visable impact + multiable targets

CHROME BOLT ASSEMBLY

rust stain resistance / less maintance / reliable

RECOIL BUFFER SYSTEM

less felt recoil (easy follow up shots ) + multiable targets
less noise from the action / stealthy /reliable

MATCH TRIGGER

light crisp break(percise steady ignition )
less over travel/less creep (faster lock time) faster more percise ignition

add all that up and you = a rock solid build 350+yard accuracy almost zero felt recoil 20+round mags semi auto fire weather resistant low maintance comfortable to shoot almost zero muzzle flash

you will be able to see and hear the impact of almost ever shot fired
you can lay prone on a good solid rest and send bullets fly almost back to back at 50 yards you could probably dump a 20 rnd clip with in inches of each other really fast … i don’t know but when it is built i’ll let you know … but i jut need advise on what components are better for the money and user friendly…
