AR-15 Two Stage Triggers...let's talk about them...

I do NOT need the best 2-stage for this particular application. The build is going to be a range queen mostly…

I’d like one that will remain two-stage, and not ever double.

I have had good luck with:

LMT
KAC
McCormick drop-in
WOA RRA tuned

With the exception of the LMT 2-stage, I’ve heard negative reviews of all the other three.

I really, really, really don’t need a $250 trigger on this rifle. Though I will listen to compelling arguments for the Geissele if someone insists on including it.

I have 3 RRA NM triggers and believe they are good enough for my purposes; hunting. I was a little dissappointed in a large pin Colt version but after the burrs were removed it’s ok now. I have had several of these and never experienced a problem. One of mine has a couple thousand rounds and the others are under 500 each.

I used a Millazzo trigger that a buddy has and it’s what I judge others by, it’s expensive and hard to find but the adjustments have stood the test of time and round count.

I replaced all my Jewell triggers with RRA NM because of light hammer strikes and a bad attitude at Jewell.

Stay away from Bushmasters competition trigger unless you want help with “2 to the chest” the one example I’ve tried has needed constant adjusting.

That’s the ones I’ve had experince with good or bad.

I’ve seen bad reviews on the McCormick , but I like mine…no problems so far.

Geissele has a fixed 2-stage for around $150 from ADCO. I personally will never buy another RRA or CMC trigger and if I’m dropping the cash for a KAC I’d buy the Geissele first.

In short…I insist you include the Geissele.

Not available. :frowning:

They will be soon and we will be stocking them for sure!

Start your own thread…

Wonder how they will compare to the others??

I just installed a Jewell trigger in a friends AR, not impressed. My Geissele triggers are head and shoulders above the Jewell. I have the Match and DMR versions, well worth the money.

Since you are not looking to spend a lot on this trigger, I would suggest the WOA tuned RRA 2-stage. Seems to be an excellent trigger for under $120.

The other RRA trigger I recommend is the modified 2 stage from Adco.

I have a WOA tuned RRA 2 stage in my DPMS/LMT mutt carbine. Before landing there, it lived in my RRA NM rifle where it went just over 3K rounds without a single problem. Sometime during its competition life it got sent to John Holliger for his magic. At the 3K point, I decided I wanted to try a Geiselle and shelved the RRA trigger. I kept on shooting Highpower with the Geisselle for about another 1500 trouble free rounds before I sold the rifle and went to bolt guns for highpower.

Then I decided to dump the DPMS single stage in my carbine and replace it with the RRA. Since then the RRA has gone through another 1600 trouble free rounds.

And now that Bill Geisselle has a non-adjustable two-stage available, I would not consider using a single stage trigger in any AR regardless of its end use.

In fact, I wish ALL my rifles had two stage triggers.

They will own them.

now you’re making me drool:D

FWIW, myself and the other guys on my team have been running stock RRA’s in our rifles for the last couple years. Gone through some high round count classes + lots of rounds during training and never experienced a problem with them.

The reset is so fast on the 2-stage triggers that when we shoot w/ the entry guys, we can keep up w/ their auto fire for the first 4-5 rounds.

I’ve heard of the Milazzo-Kreiger trigger before, what’s the deal with them?

Not sure, but they are north of $200 if you can find them. A little more than I need for this range queen “DMR”.

I have a RRA large Pin in a colt, thats just OK. I have a small pin RRA that Bill springfield redid that i love. I have a Timney single stage that i like, and a stock single stage redone by Bill that I love. I am going to try a Geissele next

Armalite, RRA etc make nice out of the box triggers. A RRA takes a a trigger job very well and 2 .75lbs butter smooth pull can be obtained with stock springs.

My buddy called Millazzo when they first came out he talked a while with him and ordered one for a Colt, he included his own pins with it and my buddy had to mill off a corner to fit with the sear block.

Somewhere Kreiger got involved and they wouldn’t answer the phone or begin to help if they did, my buddy finally gave up trying to stock any of them.

Then Armalite made a copy of them and he got a few of those, then sadly Armalite had to have them all back, I guess it was too close of a copy.

I’ve seen 2 of them listed on the EE seems like they were around $200 but they sold fast if I recall.

From what I understand KAC and Gieselle have pretty much supplanted the Millazo-Krieger triggers. While KAC availability is hit or miss from what I gather, Gieselle’s are readily available from several sources.

Other decent triggers also available are RRA (both stock and John Holliger tuned versions from WOP) and Armalite. Armalite offers two versions, a tactical version that pulls a little harder but should stand up to tougher usage and a std competition model.
