Hi guy’s, I am new to the Forum and have been reading many interesting and informative posts here.

After 35+ years with my Colt SP-1 that I converted to a Colt CAR-15 30+ years ago, I find myself needing to retire the old and rather worn out girl to the Gun Safe.

I have looked at the Colt SP6920 and like it, but the Rat Work M7 Rifle looks interesting to me as well.

Is the Rat Worx a comparable product to the Colt product? I do not want to spend extra to gain nothing but will spend to gain quality.

It sure was easier picking out which AR-15 to get in 1976! Colt or nothing, now the choices seem endless.

They don’t list any component specs and they state “budget friendly.” I’d stay away. Buy a Colt and it’ll last you another 30+ years.

Go with a Colt or Bravo Company rifle. The rifle you linked to has zero details aside from a “16” chrome lined barrel and 6-position buttstock".

Did you find any other info on this gun anywhere?

Stay away from budget builds that are skimpy on specifics. Go with a known quantity for an entry level rifle from one of these companies: Colt, Bravo Company, Daniel Defense, LMT.

it’s also generally good advice to stay away from guns and gun products with names like Worx, Xtreme, Ultra, Specops, Killer, Sniper, Assassin… etc.

Don’t you think its probably a good idea to stay with what served you well for 30+ years? Buy the Colt, it will serve you well for years to come…

Exception of note, Storm Werkz(yup, funny name). They make a damn fine folding mechanism for the AK family.

ETA: As for Rat Worx, I can’t speak on their own products, but they did have a Colt 6720 in stock and a good price…

ETA2: OP, for the price difference, buy the Colt.

I was already leaning towards the Colt product, all the friendly advice just pushes me more in that direction.

I’ve bought a Colt 6940, 6920 and a 6933 upper for a pistol build from RatWorx. They are GREAT guys to deal with! I also bid on a used Colt Python on one of their Gunbroker auctions that turned out even better than I had hoped.
I don’t know about their own rifles, but I recommend them as a reputable business.

and Rat Worx = Unknown Quantity (UQ)
and KQ > UQ
then Colts are better than Rats

Why not get a new upper and BCG instead of a whole gun? That would save you a few pennies.
