I was going to post that picture. Some people will never be convinced, and others enjoy conspiracy theories. Throughout human history individuals or groups of individuals have pulled off amazing things that seem unbelievable. In this case there is more than enough evidence to show that the moon landings happened.
It seems that just about any poll you take, you can count on 10% being contrarian towards the fringe. Flat earth kind of stuff. Just a general observation.
Oh, we went. At the count of 12 men. And then we got bored. As a decadent misguided people would.
I just have a hard time understanding anyone with any cognitive reasoning would be able to actually question this, as the hard data and anecdotal evidence and facts are so overwhelming. To question this is on par with saying the earth is flat.
That being said, it’s painful enough knowing we currently are without manned space-flight capability. None. Zero Zippo. Nada.
For the first time since what…May 5th 1961? :alcoholic:
As in, we’re paying our “friends and partners” now to give us that ride, at the sum of what, $60,0000 per person per trip to visit LEO, with marginally upgraded vodka infused 40 year old cold war technology…
And even more ironic, we scrapped that very program it competed with, who’s very existence is being questioned with this poll, to pay for what - the homeless? Poverty? A war? Who knows…All I know is, evidently it pays to stick with what works and keep the fucking politicians and bean-counters out of the process.
And the next American planning on visiting the moon best bring a Cantonese dictionary…No shit!

My father was a flight safety engineer for NASA here in Houston from 1963 through 1983. He worked directly with all the manned flights.
To suggest that the landings were faked is beyond my comprehension, and an insult to those who were involved, and to those who died in pursuit of mankind’s greatest achievement.
And 9/11 was planned and executed by the Bush Administration to help his chances for re-election.
The FDR Administration also knew about the Japanese Fleet that was headed for Pearl Harbor but chose to do nothing so that they would have the justification to fight the Axis.
The USS Maine was sunk by the US and Spanish government for justification to invade Cuba and the Philippines. Spain was paid off to loose the SPanish-American War because they were bankrupt and they needed an “honorable” excuse to give up these colonies.
I’m trying to think of other conspiracies that have been perpetuated by conspiracists over the years.
The first time I ever heard the proposal that the moon landing was faked was when I was working for the UK MoD a few years ago.
Every now and then I see it come up (and I think I had just watched something about the Moon on Discovery) and I was just curious to see how our membership as a whole viewed the subject, especially considering that gun forums tend to attract some. . . colorful individuals. I know that GD is avoided by many members (to include myself), so I don’t think that the poll is accurate enough to say anything about the perceptions of the forum as a whole, I just wanted to see how the numbers shook out.
Really the most suprising thing to me is the number of "I don’t know"s. Interesting.
Generally, if I don’t know something and I realize that I have insufficient information to have an educated opinon I make an effort to educate myself. Google is the autodidact’s finest tool. Anyway, I know that not everyone approaches education the same way, just an interesting bubble in the results.
