I finally bit the bullet (pun intended) and bought a Barrett to fulfill my anti-material needs. In keeping with the purpose of the weapon, I need some high quality API (armor piercing incendiary) ammo. Unfortunately, major manufacturers such as Federal and Hornady do not appear to make this stuff for the civilian market. I’ve found several smaller shops such as Summit, Freedom Munitions, 50BMG Supply, etc. who make API 50 cal ammo from new and reloaded brass.
I’ve seen mixed reviews on almost all of these small shops, but most of the negative comes from their smaller caliber stuff. Does anyone have a favorite manufacturer for the 50 cal when it comes to AP or API ammo.
