I want to assemble an 11.5in upper using a BCM hammer-forged barrel and a clamp-on Noveske Switchblock.
This would be my second SBR as I allready have a Noveske 12.5 inch Stainless Steel Switchblock upper with their special rail. I want a similar setup but with a lighter hammer-forged chrome-lined barrel.
Unfortunately Noveske does not sell bare N4 Light barrels. He does however sell a Switchblock that clamps on via double set screws.
In his advertisement he implies that clamp-on switchblocks are not as rigid as their pinned brethren, but I will only use this upper in non-critical scenarios like training classes. Even then, a daily round count of 1000 rounds is not uncommon.
The question thus…is anyone using a Noveske clamp-on Switchblock, and how is it holding up? I imagine the screws could be coated with Rockset then torqued to spec, much like my suppressor mounts.
Your input would be greatly appreciated.
