For sure… I just want to try them out while Pappabear waits for the ATFtards to shuffle papers on his 7.62 can.
It’s a good idea to test them without the can anyway… to make sure they don’t keyhole. Baffle strikes ruin fun fast.
Good point. Should we punch them through paper at close range to check that??? Or just shoot them through paper at a 50, 100, etc.??
Both. You’ll know in 2 rounds. ![]()
If it’s keyholing at 100… it’s not stable enough at the muzzle. If it’s creating an oval at 10ft… it’s not gonna be stable at 100. It can be kind of hard to see up close though.
dont need to break in my CAN that way. Lets start with paper.![]()
I need to call ATF on this CAN and see WTF is up? I think its been 5 light years now.
Oh man!!! These things are cool. I could shoot them without ears and they’re about as loud as a 556 supressed AR.
These are going to make for really fun practice rounds.
You think its bad now? Suppressed… they are as addicting as hell.
308 crack… for sure.
No recoil… no noise… wow.
FYI u NEED a 1/10 twist or they will come out sideways… 308 sub tracers are awsum BTW ![]()
I must have a 1/10… I thought I had a 1/12, but this thing shoot long bullets great.
Rem made the SPS TAC in both twists apparently.
check with a cleaning rod… if you dont know how, ask or google… its easy…
but i have never seen a 1/12 shoot subs well in a 308
Yeah… I’m going to do that now. I never cared since it shoots 175s, 178s and 180s well. It must be a 10.
You ought to hear them with the can on them. I’ve farted louder.
I can only imagine. Pappabear’s 762 stamp should be here within a few years…
I’m going to try some 220SMKs tomorrow. If I can get those to shoot, I will have absolutely no reason to buy a .300BLK.
For the majority of bullets this is true… however…
Its all about projectile length. I have a 1/12 twist 24" 700P. Thats why I chose the Hornady 180gr RN for my load… its very short.
It stabilizes fine and shoots accurately.
You ought to use the stability formula to predict how stable your load is… and as always confirm up close and at distance without the suppressor before threading it on and taking that first suppressed shot.
What is the reason for a 300blk?? ![]()
They are uber-quiet and cycle sub rounds out of a suppressed AR platform.
… go shoot one. You’ll not ask that question anymore. They are stupid fun. I mean make you giggle like a little girl fun.
Oh no. I hope Pappabear doesn’t read this. He’ll buy one and I’ll have to load for it! ![]()
Great fun we had Sunday!
I know you know what’s up with the 300 AAC BLK. Not much comparison between a short barrel, close quarter gun with semi-auto fire, vs. a slow shooting, unwieldy bolt gun. Two different applications, but both are worthy.
I’m leaning toward a 10.5" in BLK, but the addiction costs. Especially when you add the 30 cal. can.
