Found some SS109/62 Gr. NATO spec ammo for $.36 cents per round (Not too bad for prices lately) from Uzina Mecanică Sadu out of Romania.
Never heard of this factoryor their ammo before, searched here and found nothing on them.
Anyone used this, recommend for against it?
Trying to bolster my ammo stock before things get worse/more expensive, but don’t want to buy if it is not quality ammo from a quality/known manufacturer…
Thanks!
If it’s the stuff that I found, no experience on the ammo, but the site’s shipping costs are sky high. Drives your price up to 41¢ a round. There is plenty of known good ammo available at that cost.
I looked and didnt see any reviews either. I took a chance on a case, along with some 9mm ball. If it gets here tomorrow I might have a range report by the weekend.
Edit:
Time constraints kept me from shooting more … course of fire today was meant to break in a new colt/bcm hybrid and I had a bunch of M855 already on stripper clips.
Shot 60 rounds through. 10 round strings from 2 different rifles (S&W M&P, and a Colt). BLUF, used a red dot on each rifle at 100 meters; group from Russian was roughtly 6 inches, vs about 3-4 inches for the M855 I compared it to.
First round fired failed to extract; might be rifle related however. The other 59 rounds were GTG. Of note, only 10 were through the S&W, the other 50 were the Colt.
Brass cased, no funky “Wolf/Tula/Bear/Cat piss” smell. I didn’t notice any change in cleaning than usual. Subjectively, recoil seemed comparable to RA556b and Federal M855 that I had. Maybe a touch more than PMC Xtac M193 loads I was shooting as well.
