anyone use 80 percent lower ?

Can anyone give me thier thoughts one using one for a build my brother in law will give me one if I want it.

Give it a shot. I’m waiting for mine to arrive.

Yes.

I don’t understand your question. An 80% lower just needs the fire control group milled out and hammer/trigger/safety holes drilled – then it’s no different from a standard lower.

Just be aware that many 80%'s being sold in the current panic are 6061 aluminum, not 7075-T6. You can do some research on material properties if you’re concerned. For a fighting weapon, I’d want 7075 for sure, but there are some aesthetically-pleasing 6061 billet lowers out there if that’s what you’re into.

I’m waiting on a couple from Ares Armour. Given the current political climate, I figure a legal but non registered rifle sounds like a good idea.

Make sure you get it hard coat anodized.

A legal and unmarked rifle sounds like an excellent idea.

My ARs aren’t illegal, they’re undocumented. ; )
Many 80% receivers are machined from Cerro Forgings just like other high quality weapons from the best manufacturers.
